By Dwain Berlin Be aware that some leather products that have been around for a long time have new formulations. Therefore, chemically you are really looking at an entirely new leather product so while you think you may be achieving certain results from using the product last year; this year with the new formulations, the results achieved could be very different. Additionally, some leather products that have been in use for a long time were used for a different purpose than used today. Acrylic Copolymers Technology continues to offer new leather products such as acrylic copolymers that form a barrier net too fine for water molecules to pass through, but still porous enough to let water vapor in so the leather can still breath. These products do not have the slippery consistency of silicone sprays and do not have a negative effect on dyes. Most reputable leather merchants will also give you guidelines about how to care for your leather. Some even provide information about how to tell good leather from bad. Beeswax This natural leather product has been in use for a long time. Today, it is combined with ingredients that are more modern, which allows for better leather products to be made. One of the primary things that beeswax does is provides waterproofing although it also replaces natural oils. Blackball Blackball is a combination of beef tallow, beeswax, and soot that was used in the 18th century as a multi-purpose leather treatment, waterproofing, conditioning, and blackening in one fell swoop. Cleaning A simple wipe down or brushing with each use is a good idea for your leather items to help knock dirt off the surface and keep dust from working its way into the pores. For heavier soiled leather or for stains, cleaning should be done to keep the dirt and other debris from working its way into the leather and becoming a permanent, more than likely unattractive part of your item. The concept here is not washing per se. You are applying a detergent of sorts to the surface to emulsify and lift off soils and stains. Follow directions and determine first if the type of soil you are dealing with can be removed with spot cleaning. If needed, you can clean the entire area of the leather. Cleaning is always followed by conditioning. Just be sure to let the item dry thoroughly and naturally, and avoid using hair dryers unless specified to be okay by the manufacturer. In some cases, using a hair dryer on low heat is permissible but of course, you want to do this with extreme care. Conditioning You can follow the manufacturers recommendations, or just use common sense here. It is not difficult to tell if your leather is a bit tired. Regular conditioning will prevent deterioration such as cracking, which is important since once leather is cracked there is no going back. Cracked leather can only be fully repaired by replacing it. Although it can also be dyed so the leather appears uniform, the crack will remain. Conditioners run the gamut from oil to wax and both function as conditioners. Wax tends to make leather harder, which works for some items such as a bicycle seat while oil tends to make leather softer as what you would find with a leather sofa. Lanolin is another conditioner that is used. Obenaufs has leather products that are worth considering, especially if you are working with a specialized garment such as motorcycle and firefighters gear. Obenaufs also makes boot care kits that people rave about. Conditioners also function as basic waterproofing agents or sealants. This makes perfect sense since it is the same principal at work as in nature when the hide was still on the animal. If you are working on a leather item that is not going to be in direct contact with your skin, oil is great. Boots and the outside of a jacket are good candidates. It is always a good idea to give oil a day to soak in, regardless. If you are working with an item that does touch your skin, or fabric, for example a seat of some sort, give the product time to soak in and maybe a gentle cleaning before you sit on it or wear it. Mink Oil Mink has a fatty layer under their skin and have great pelts, as you know. This fatty layer is rendered and turned into Mink Oil, which is used to treat leather. Mink oil will leave furniture feeling greasy. Its primary purpose is as a water proofing agent for hiking boots. It is not recommended as a protective coating for upholstery leather. Some Mink leather products have filler ingredients so read the label if you prefer good quality. Neatsfoot Oil A neat is a beef animal, and this oil used to be made out of cow hooves, hence the name. It is heavy oil and is known to rot cotton stitching on leather items that have been sewn. Of all the raw oils, Neatsfoot oil seems to have the most colorful history. Neatsfoot oil was combined with all sorts of things to keep leather (especially footwear) serviceable. Saddle Soap Saddle soap is a great solution for saddles but can actually harm upholstery leather. Saddles are made from tough, vegetable tanned leather that can take the alkalinity of saddle soap. It's intended to remove manure and related heavy soil from saddles. Upholstery grade leather has been processed differently, usually processed with chromium tanning which imparts supple characteristics. Saddle soap speeds up the demise of upholstery leather by breaking down the fibrous structure through chemical reaction. In the days when most leather items were the natural color of the hide, this was not an issue. In fact, the age finish that saddles take on was desirable. As dying and bleaching leather has become more popular, people are more concerned about the leather staying the original color purchased. Silicone Most guidelines for leather care also recommend staying away from anything that has silicone in it. Silicone leather products produce nice finishes. However, there is not anything in them to condition the leather. A newsletter for Jaguar enthusiasts warned that use of silicone on leather seats could make future repairs, especially re-coloring very difficult. If this is not an issue, silicone polymers sprays are non-greasy leather products that can be used on all leather, including suede to produce this type of finish. Some guidelines put petroleum products in the same category as silicone. For leather conservation as in a museum or collectible, petroleum components are used in leather products where animal-based products might not be as suitable because they could be a medium for bacteria or mold contamination. Stripping Another process to mention is stripping. Stripping takes all of the oil out of the leather, leaving you with the raw material. If you were going to dye leather, stripping would be necessary. Sometimes new leather has a finish layer that prevents absorption of a conditioner or sealant so you may want to strip this off before conditioning. Usually, as you use the item, this factory applied conditioning will wear off. Keep in mind that there are commercial leather strippers on the market that are petroleum-based solvents - Naphthalene is a perfect example. The downfall is that commercial strippers can be pricey. Interestingly, Zippo lighter fluid is made of the same chemical and is much less expensive, but a word of caution, before you go dousing your new leather with lighter fluid, ask the manufacturer about any sealant that might have been used. Some of these wear off naturally so by the time you are ready to condition, you will not need to strip the leather first. Leather products can now be found in most stores. In fact, even your grocery store is likely to carry them. Lexol and Leatherique have been around for a while and have great reputations. The makers of these leather products say that they have kept the good effects of raw products traditionally used on leather and used modern chemistry to modify them, as a way of reducing or eliminating some of the not so desirable effects. Magnesium (School Chalk) This substance can be used to clean buckskin. Simply use a soft brush on the rough side and chamois cloth on the soft side. School chalk or corn meal will also absorb grease. If you are working with white buckskin, using magnesium on the stain after brushing lightly is a popular home remedy. *** Hey! Want To Make Something Out Of Leather? ***

No Win No Fee Claim Solicitor - Benefits Of Appointing One?
By Mumtaz Shah If you were not already aware of it, the world of personal injury is awash with a new buzz-phrase: the no win no fee claim. However, what is no win no fee and more importantly, what are the benefits of appointing a no win no fee claim solicitor? Origins With the spiralling costs of Legal Aid swamping the UK treasury, the UK Government decided that the time has come to introduce a new method by which compensation solicitors could be paid for accident claims, thereby reducing the burden on them. The alternative agreed upon and put into operation in 1998, the no win no fee claim. What Does It Mean? Basically, a no win no fee compensation claim is available to anyone who believes they have grounds to make a personal injury claim for compensation. Under this conditional fee arrangement, an accident solicitor representing you in a personal injury claim is only entitled to be paid his fees if he actually wins the case. Why Would A Compensation Solicitor Agree To Such An Arrangement? Under the law, if you win your personal injury compensation claim, your compensation solicitor is entitled to claim his fees and expenses from your opponent. As a result, if your solicitor believes your case has merit, he'll be willing to work for you for free, safe in the knowledge that he'll be paid for his work by your opponent once he wins the case. Is There Anything I Need To Be Aware Of? Yes; sometimes a no win no fee solicitor will try to make you agree to pay his fees on the grounds that you can be reimbursed by your opponent once you win the case. However, you should keep in mind that the courts will only reimburse you for the reasonable fee costs of your solicitor so if you agree to such an arrangement there is a chance that you will not be getting 100% compensation you are rightfully entitled to. Also, you need to keep in mind that if you lose your personal injury claim, although you will not be responsible for your own solicitor's fees, you may be held accountable for fees off your opponent and even, possibly, the court's fees. So, if you are going to use the services of a no win no fee compensation solicitor you should make sure that you ask him who'll pay if you do happen to lose the case. In this regard, a good accident solicitor will tell you that they have taken out insurance to cover this scenario. If, however, your solicitor has not taken out insurance, you should urge him to do so as solicitors' and court fees are expensive and can easily be covered with a minimal premium paid to an insurance company. What Are The Benefits Of Appointing A No Win No Fee Claim Solicitor? Beside the obvious benefit of not having to pay for your solicitor's services whether you win or lose - the biggest benefit of appointing a no win no fee solicitor is the fact that you'll receive 100% of the personal injury compensation you are entitled to. In other words, none of the compensation you'll be paid from your no win no fee accident claim, will be eaten up in solicitors' fees and costs. In turn this means that the compensation you are paid can be put to good use that it was intended for compensating you for the personal injury YOU suffered. In addition to the above, because no win no fee solicitors are only paid on the basis that they win the personal injury case they are working on, they tend to be very good at what they do and are experts in personal injury law. As a result, they'll most probably be able to give you the best advice on whether or not your personal injury compensation claim has a chance of winning. It's easy to proceed with a no win no fee claim and gain maximum results without the hassle, costs and confusion. Over 50 and Starting To Sag - Fight Back with Isometric Exercise
By Ellen Miller As we age, the body and skin lose some of their natural elasticity and Mother Nature needs more help from us keep us looking our best. As we approach and pass age 50 we can fight a losing battle, with moisturizers and plastic surgery, or we can successfully fight the ravages of time with a natural cure that also helps us feel better: isometric exercise. Though the elasticity of the skin will continue to fade as we age, we can help offset the consequences by exercising the muscles underneath, keeping them lean and firm. Lean muscle burns calories very efficiently, helping us to maintain a shape much closer to that we had when we were younger. Reclaiming the lean muscle needed to do that, after years of neglect, can seem like a daunting task - but it doesn't have to be. The small, repetitive movement in isometric exercises helps to energize our muscles and keep them at optimal performance levels. Isometrics works by using the body's own natural resistance to create a smaller-scale resistance training that helps us to stay fit and firm as we age. The best news about isometric exercises - other than how well they work -- is that they can be done almost anywhere, with little risk to your joints. Take one annoying sign of aging, for example - "baggy" upper arms. One simple way to fix that is with an isometric arm stretch. Simply extending the bicep and triceps, those upper arms muscles, and then releasing the stretch can greatly reduce, and often eliminate, that sagging. Try this: Extend your arms out completely in either direction for about a ten-count, palms up. Then, rotate your arms as far you can, moving your thumbs from the rear of the arm forward and then down. Hold this position for a ten-count and repeat throughout the course of the day. This simple stretch will help ease tension in your shoulders and fight that upper arm sag, helping you to look younger immediately. This type of isometric exercise can help you fight off the effects of a hard day and a few hard years, leaving you looking and feeling younger as your muscles regain some of their youthful firmness. No one has to just give up and give in to an aging body -- you can fight it all the way and the fight doesn't have to be strenuous or painful. A few simple contract and release exercises over the course of the day can lead to a healthier, happier you in no time. With longevity increasing, 50 can be "the new 30" - it's all within your control and your ability. All it takes are a few simple exercises every day to keep your muscles firm and lean. With isometric exercises, you may even be able to turn back the clock. What Are You Willing To Do To Achieve Your Weight Loss Goals
By Rob Cooper What are you willing to do to achieve your weight loss goals? Im approached quite regularly about which diet is best, which
book would I recommend and what exercise program should a
person follow. People think they can just purchase a book to
read and then some sort of magic occurs whereby reading it
will cause their fat to magically disappear. Well, Im here
to break the news to you, the $40 investment in your weight
loss book is just the start, theres a lot of hard work and
other expenses involved. Time Investment Theres time invested in your education (reading, watching
videos etc), time youll spend exercising doing both cardio
and weight training. Theres time spent creating your new
meal plans as well as preparation of those meals the day
before or days in advance. Theres time involved in doing
extra laundry because youre suddenly doing more exercising
now on your weight loss journey. Let me ask you this: Whats your favorite television show?
How much television are you watching in a given week? 1 Hour?
Six? Are you willing to eliminate television to allow
yourself time to go to the gym and prepare foods for the next
day? If not, then dont bother buying books that recommend
food and exercise programs? It takes time to prepare food for
5 or 6 meals in a day and to go to the gym once or twice a
day. Weight loss requires a time investment. Food Investment The quality of the food you put in your body is directly
proportional to the quality of your cells. Its your cells
that create energy and make your various bodily systems run,
and if theyre given the best quality food, then theyre able
to regenerate and be healthy. Conversely, low quality food creates a low quality cell. A
low quality cell is not up to the demand of generating energy
nor the proper removal of wastes which then results in
sickness and disease. In conversation with a fellow regarding his food program and
how he could make corrections to his diet to improve his
health, burn fat, improve his workouts and achieve his weight
loss goal, I suggested a few new products. Oatmeal, some
whole grain wraps, spring mix salad, and Essential Fatty Acid,
Almond butter and whole grain basmati rice were a few places
to begin. You didnt tell me how expensive it was going to be! was his
response. Well, I dont consider it expensive, so I would not have said
that it was. Our cells are our power plants in our body. Our body is
constantly rebuilding itself daily and hourly. Our skeleton
replaces itself once a year and the muscular lining of our
stomach and our intestines is replaced every 3 to 4 days so it
only makes sense to give it the highest quality food. Doesnt
it? Youre probably going to come to the same conclusion that most
other people do. The food I put in my body creates a healthy
body and I must take care in my food choices. Whole grain oatmeal costs more money than cocoa puffs. Raw
almonds cost more than hickory smoked almonds and you probably
never knew what Essential Fats or Pro Biotics were. Weight
loss requires an investment in food. Cutting Expenses To Reach Your Goal If youre not able to increase the amount of food you eat
financially or the quality of the food you eat (organic), then
what are you willing to do to get it. Are you willing to cut
some other costs? Are you willing to increase your sales at
your job or home business to be able to afford this new
change? The first reasonable step is to make some switches or
replacements. Take note of non nutritional foods in your day
- consider snacks, junk foods, coffee, pop, cigarettes (I hope
youre not still smoking), milk or dairy products, alcohol,
vitamins, tums, Rolaids, pepto bismol etc and see how much
youre spending on a daily or monthly basis. Are you willing
to replace these for higher quality nutritional foods that
will support you in your weight loss goals? It can be a scary
thought for some people. Others accept the challenge readily
because theyve truly committed to their weight loss goals and
are willing to do Whatever It Takes! Switching and replacing
is the easiest thing to do. Weight Loss requires sacrifice. Invest in Yourself Your body, your mind, your soul and becoming the best you can
be is the single best investment you can make. Make the
decision to eat the cleanest food you can, make the healthiest
choices you can, begin to switch from non nutritional foods to
nutritional foods and let go negativity in your life. Weight
loss is easy, but requires some investment. Eat Well, Be Well

4 Keys to Weight Loss
By Chad Anderson First off, let me start by saying this list is by no means exhaustive. However, if you can manage these 4 important components of a weight loss program, you will be on your way to a slimmer body. Build the Foundation Many people begin a weight loss program with their basal metabolic rate (BMR), which is the amount of energy (calories) your body uses in a resting state, in the gutter. The key then is to increase your BMR so that you are burning more calories throughout the day, every day. Increase the amount of calories you burn, increase the amount of fat you lose. Makes sense, yes? The best way to increase your BMR is through adding muscle tissue. Females often shudder at the idea of adding muscle due to their fear of becoming bulky. Relax babe! Its a little harder to add that kind of muscle mass than you think. Besides, a little muscle mass goes a long way toward achieving a leaner body. And this is what you want, right? Specificity of Program Not just any exercise program will do for weight loss. Simply burning calories is not good enough. The program must be designed to elicit specific hormonal responses that are conducive to weight loss. Ill give you a hinthours and hours of cardio is NOT the answer! Consistency This one pretty much speaks for itself. Have you ever achieved anything great with an inconsistent effort? Unless you consider failure a great achievement, you probably havent. You must exercise consistently to get the results you want! It amazes me how many people put so little effort into their exercise program and complain about not seeing results. Even the most well designed programs are useless if they are not adhered to on a consistent basis. Diet Again, this one goes without saying. You cant expect to achieve a leaner body by continuing your unhealthy eating habits. This isnt to say that you should drop everything in your diet immediately and exchange it for healthy food. You would end up miserable and revert back to your old habits within a month. Instead, practice moderation and dont overindulge. Also, phase certain unhealthy foods out of your diet while introducing healthier foods. The transition will be easier to make and a lot easier to maintain. Bahamas Fishing - Only 50 miles off the coast of Florida is some of the best fishing in the world.
By Vinnie LaSorsa For the time of your life, follow the dotted lines Before we go any further, let's get something right out in the open. From Thanksgiving Day to Valentines Day, the rich waters surrounding the islands of the Bahamas hold more trophy wahoo than anywhere else on the globe. It's for this reason so many who appreciate these mysterious fish, end the year crossing the Gulf Stream to take full advantage of the most prolific high-speed trolling found anywhere on any chart. This late in the year, crossing the 'Stream can prove a bit precarious when faced with uncooperative tropical winter weather, but I promise you getting bounced around for a few hours will be well worth the reward. That is, if you savor coming face to face with one of the fastest and most aggressive killing machines in all the world's oceans. Over hear on the other side, we're talking ten to twenty fish days with respectable wahoo averaging 20 to 40 pounds, not to mention the possibility of monsters twice that size a real possibility. If this exciting fishery sounds intriguing to you or you're just looking to expand your horizons and brush up on your high-speed skills, then stick around. We're about to lay the groundwork for everything the novice to the pro needs to know about finding, fooling, fighting, and filleting these ferocious fiends. Wahoo were probably given their somewhat dubious name from the most common sound emitted from an anglers' mouth when the savage fish strike, leaving the privileged in awe of the relentless power these speedsters command as they tear off on their initial screaming run. Comparable to a guided missile, wahoo are efficient hunters capable of soaring through the water at breakneck speeds. In lieu of a homing devise, these deadly assassins are armed with wicked jaws lined with surgically sharp, serrated teeth capable of tearing through a 20 pound tuna in one swift slice. Concealed by a distinct camouflaged pattern and lead by telescopic eyesight, wahoo possess the somewhat supernatural ability to materialize out of their surroundings, easily picking off fast moving prey from great distances. Favoring tuna, bonito, dolphin and other mackerels, wahoo grow extremely fast reaching close to 40 inches and sexual maturity by the end of year number one. With this long list of attributes, once a wahoo hones in on a target, there's little the victim can do from becoming the silent stalker's next casualty. Structure orientated, wahoo are close cousins to king mackerel and prefer water temperatures ranging from the mid 70s to low 80s. Small clusters will hunt in wide spread groups, though they are not characteristically a schooling fish. Like many pelagic predators, populations migrate north in the summer and head south for the winter, right on the tails of mass concentrations of baitfish and the bonito, tuna, and mackerel feeding on them. An insurmountable amount of this forage make's its way toward the warm Northwest Providence Channel. From there, bait concentrations head into the shallows surrounding the western most reaches of Grand Bahama Island, or continue on their trek south and pile up on the outskirts of the Great Bahama Bank. What makes both stretches so inviting are the steep ledges quickly falling from 100' to well over 1000' in less than a mile. It's these sharp counters bordering both protruding oasis' where high-speed wahoo hunters will find most of the drag screaming action. Just to be clear, the steep wall paralleling the western most edge of Grand Bahama Island from north of Memory Rock down to around Freeport is a constant producer. For crews departing Jupiter, Palm Beach, Boynton, and Boca Inlets, this stretch of productive water should be your 'go-to-spot' for serious wahoo action. The second, equally rewarding stretch borders the bottom side of the Northwest Providence Channel from Isaacs down and around to Gun Cay. Teams crossing from Hillsboro, Port Everglades and Miami's major cuts will find this stretch a breeze to reach. Realistically though, at only 40 to 60 miles both locales are easily accessible from all of the above mentioned ports, even for small and mid-size boaters. Your only obstacle for reaching these promising wahoo areas during peak season smack dab in the middle of winter will be the weather. Safely crossing the Gulf Stream requires you keep a sharp eye on marine forecasts and local weather patterns. Bearing in mind any amount of wind from a northerly quadrant will leave you convinced the 'Stream would have been better off left alone. Nonetheless, similar to years past, adequate windows of opportunity do open up. To take full advantage of these brief periods of tolerable conditions between passing fronts, be ready to depart your home port on short notice. Keep your high-speed gear at the ready and the boat's fuel tanks topped off. When the window opens call a couple of your best buddies, load a cooler with rations, and shoot over for a day, a weekend, or an extended holiday sprint. When you arrive you can expect Wahoo World to be teaming with fish just beckoning to be caught. For as far back as I can recall, every time we've crossed to the other side to get in on the hot high-speed bite we've always kept concise records of moon phase, tide, weather, water temp and so onOver the years a pattern has emerged revealing these ferocious predators bite best just prior to, during, and right after the full moon. The increased activity is probably attributed to stronger tides and currents. With that said, from November through February you'll definitely accumulate more and bigger fish during the first few hours of the ebbing tide, that's a certainty. The falling water spilling off the shallow banks brings with it a constant food source. Keeping in mind it's not baitfish wahoo are interested in, it's the predators gorging on them that these ferocious fish enjoy destroying. Regardless which end of the spectrum you head to, West End or Bimini, effective high-speed trolling in Bahamian waters requires specialized tackle and a specialized approach. The most consistent producers troll in a zig-zag pattern over the aforementioned ledges from 150' to 500'. It's this narrow avenue of sorts where the majority of wahoo prefer to hunt. No need to look deeper and definitely no need to troll any shallower, or you'll be spending a tremendous amount of viable fishing time fighting off pesky barracuda. Once you encounter your intended quarry, and you will, flip a quick 180 and backtrack through the same depth. 8 of 10 times you'll experience a second and third strike right where you got slammed. Now that we've made it crystal clear on precisely where and when to find wahoo, let's talk more about appropriate gear and proper execution. One thing is for sure, high-speed trolling isn't for sissies. As I mentioned earlier this type of angling requires specialized tackle designed specifically for the job at hand, a job that requires pulling heavy lures and heavy weights at well above average trolling speeds. My favorite and most effective high-speed trolling spread is comprised of four lines; two lures fished from bent-butt 80s loaded with braid and weighted down with 32-ounce cigar shaped trolling leads and two stand-up 50s spooled with mono with 16-ounce cigars. The later are run much farther back in the pattern. Depending on conditions, you can't go wrong at 12 - 16 knots. But if you feel you're trolling too fast, add two or three more knots of speed and you should be right on the money. How deep your lures run is not as important as you may think. A common misconception is the added pound or two of lead forces the lures to run well below the surface, they don't. The laws of physics dictate that any object with a large surface area which displaces a volume of water eventually scopes its way back toward the surface as speed increases. The added lead is only implemented to ensure the lures don't skip across the surface. When you're trolling at or above 12 knots regardless how much extra lead you implement the bullet shaped lures will not run any more than just a few feet below your white water, which is exactly where you want them to be. High-speed wahoo trolling is also not the place for measly terminal gear. We've always had the best success rigging 200 lb. wind-on leaders straight to our main lines with simple loop-to-loop connections. A 300 lb. ball bearing snap-swivel is crimped to the end of the wind-on which is where our trolling weights come into play. Take the time to rig your trolling leads with at least 12 to 18 of heavy cable on either side, as wahoo commonly mistake the shiny sinkers for easy meals. On the opposite side of the sinker, finish things off with a 50', 300 lb. test monofilament shock leader completed with a ball bearing snap swivel. This is where your lures cable leader is affixed. The deadliest high-speed lures all have a few things in common. They're all heavy, and all feature tapered, conical or bullet shaped heads which create minimal drag and help keep the lures tracking straight. Favorites are all dark colored due to the striking contrast with the boats long trail of turbulent white water. To prevent tackle failure, lures intended for this application MUST be rigged with a length of 400 lb. multi-strand cable. There is no such thing as overkill when chasing these merciless predators. Our stash of wahoo whackers are easy to rig and easy to fish. They represent high-profile go-fast baits which track true and remain submerged even in the roughest sea conditions. We only pull an assortment of Ilanders and Billy Baits rigged over the top of two similar color skirts. Both have an alluring flash and hold up well after numerous attacks. A 3 ounce egg is inserted into the top skirt for added stability with 1 ounce eggs used for spacers to align the 10/0 hook in correct position protruding from the end of the skirt. Speaking of hooks, wahoo champions attest stiff rigs are the key to hooking and holding more fish. A stiff rig won't swing away when a vicious wahoo savagely strikes the middle of the lure. The business end will remain right where it needs to be to make a solid connection. At boatside, handling dangerous wahoo should be done with caution. 50 pounds of thrashing chainsaw tethered to the end of a cable can do serious damage. Leather gloves and long handled gaffs are a must, even for experienced deck-hands. Once the prize has been boated, secure the fish in a cooler until the wahoo officially meets his maker. After a few minutes it should be safe to remove the hook and take advantage of photo ops. Final step would be to pack the entire fish in ice. Fresh wahoo is way too delectable to jeopardize as the tender white meat makes for the tastiest fish fingers or grilled steaks found anywhere. I recommend preparing on a preheated grill after marinating in melted butter, fresh garlic, white wine, fresh parsley, lemon juice and your favorite seasonings to taste. Cook quickly for only two to three minutes on each side and enjoy with fresh vegetables and your favorite bottle of Chardonnay. Yummy! The areas we described off West End and Bimini offer fantastic wahoo fishing that will leave you with lifelong memories and a freezer full of tasty fillets. Make the most of a trip and cross over with your favorite buddy or two. It's always fun to high-speed troll alongside other boats and more lures in the water will make pinpointing the action that much easier. Well folks, I believe we've covered it all. I hope the info provided helps you the next time you dash across the Gulf Stream. You see, Wahoo World really does exist, just follow the dotted lines. Raising Mealworms
By Eric Morris Mealworms are the larval form of the darkling beetle (Tenebrio molitor). They are clean, do not carry human diseases and most importantly, are a nutritious food supplement readily accepted by birds and fishes. Mealworms can be offered to birds to entice them to use a nest box or to assist the incubating female to find food quickly so that she does not have to leave her eggs for long periods of time. They act as supplementary food for nestling if food becomes scarce when weather conditions prevent the parents from finding insects and, help them survive during spells of severe winter weather. Raising mealworms is quite easy, requiring only a grain source such as wheat bran, cornmeal, chicken mash or oatmeal. To provide moisture, one may add a piece of potato, apple or banana peel on a paper towel or a cardboard about once a week. Care should be taken that the meal itself doesn't become too moist. Mealworms can be kept in shallow plastic containers (2 to 5 gallons capacity) that are covered with a lid that provides good air circulation (a cover of screen or perforated metal can be used). The containers are to be kept in the dark because darkling beetle prefers darkness. If one intends to raise mealworms, a piece of cloth can be placed over a portion of the grain to provide a surface on which the adult beetles can lay their eggs. The mealworms burrow below the surface of the grain and undergo a series of molts. Their development is most rapid at the optimum temperature of 80 F. After the last molt, the larva comes to the surface and metamorphoses into naked white pupae for 6 - 18 days and then finally into a beetle. It is interesting to note that although the adult beetles have wings but they rarely fly. They usually lay their eggs 9 - 20 days after emergence and then die. Egg incubation is about 4-19 days. Eventually, waste products or "frass" builds up and a slight odor of ammonia will be detected. When this occurs, the grain needs to be sifted to separate the worms and adult beetles. The container is to be washed and new grain should be added. Dry cat food can be added to the grain to enhance the protein value of the mealworm for birds. Keeping them in the refrigerator for a few weeks, up to several months can slow the mealworm metabolism down. If you plan to do so, the vegetable matter must be removed first. Worms provides detailed information on Worms, Dog Worms, Ring Worm, Tape Worms and more. Worms is affiliated with Insect Bites. The Benefits of, Well, Benefits
By Suzanne Wood Lets face iteven though most of us arent prowling used car lots wearing plaid polyester leisure suits, were all in the sales business. Whether youre trying to persuade lawmakers to pass legislation favorable to your company, hoping to soften the blow of an unpopular personnel policy or launching a new teen-driver safety initiative, youre selling. And as all advertising prosespecially those in direct-response marketingwill tell us, youve got to tailor your sales messages to emphasize benefits over features. People will buyor buy intoyour product or your message when theyre emotionally convinced that it will improve their lives or protect their assets, family, or health. Its OK to mention featuresa bills particulars, a products warranty, a campaigns dollar goalbut they must be tied to benefits or your prospect wont be moved to take action. Sounds simple, right? The new Ecologica XYZ wagon will allow you to buy 3 times more Birkenstocks and enjoy two soy lattes every day with your $2,500 in annual gas savings is a benefits-oriented statement. The new Ecologica XYZ gets 79/mpg highway and 69/mpg city is a features-oriented statement because it doesnt tell you how that gas-mileage information will improve your life. But youd be surprised by how many seasoned communication/advertising pros focus exclusively on features. Case in point: A friend was recently working on marketing collateral for a medium-sized business. The key contact at the business was excited about the companys new state-of-the art phone and computer system, and wanted to devote a whole page to glowing descriptions of them. My friend asked the client how the new infrastructure actually benefited their clients or prospects. Well, its important to us and were really proud of it, so we want it in there, the client countered. Happily, my friend was able to convince the company to include a benefit with each feature they mentionedi.e., how the new super-powerful system would mean that customers would be served even faster than before, etc. Anything else would just be vanity. So vet each piece of copy you turn out to see if it passes the benefits-vs.-features test. A good rule of thumb: If a sentence begins with we or our, its probably emphasizing a feature; you statements tend to be more benefit-oriented. If you dont, your audience will go, Whats in it for me instead of Take my money, please! or How do I sign up? Relationship Advice: A Few Observations on Marriage and Relationships
By Jeff Herring Here are a few observations on marriage and relationships. Information Explosion Just the other day, a couple in their late 60s said a remarkable thing to me. "When we were first married years ago, there was hardly any information on how to do marriage. Now there is just so much. I wish we would not have had to wait so long to be able to use it." I sometimes forget that all this knowledge is a relatively new phenomenon. So I challenge you to take advantage of what is out there. Read some books. Go to a marriage retreat. Affairs in the air Affairs seem to be everywhere. I know I have seen many accounts of them in my office in the last few months. Every single one of us is vulnerable to an affair. A popular myth is that an affair always ends the marriage. While some marriages do end when there is an affair, the reality is that any couple can survive and grow past an affair, if they are committed to doing at least a few things: 1) The affair must end; the person that had the affair must cut ties to the person who was part of the affair. 2) The other spouse has to deal with the sense of anger, betrayal and the other ugly emotions that come with this territory. 3) The spouse that had the affair must genuinely apologize for the harm caused. 4) Trust has to be rebuilt. In order for trust to be rebuilt, the other spouse has to be willing to learn to trust again, and the spouse that had the affair has to be willing to "live under a microscope." It's important to remember that the first rule when living under a microscope is to not do anything to cause the magnification to be increased. 5) Both spouses need to look honestly at how this could happen, and look honestly at their contributions in the affair. Both spouses have an equally difficult road ahead. If you do the necessary things to recover, the relationship can very well grow to be better than before. Communication is key Just because you know how to talk does not mean that you know how to communicate. Often I hear about an argument between couples where one takes the position "Yes, I told you about planning to do that, we talked about it." At the same time, the other spouse is saying "No, you did not tell me about that, and we never talked about it." So just how does this recurring pattern happen? Are one of these people hallucinating? I don't think so. Is one just not paying attention and not really listening? Could be. Does one just think he/she told their partner? Could be too. About the only strategy I have found that works with this situation is doing the opposite of that highly dangerous habit of assuming. The opposite of assuming is checking. Let me give you an example from several years ago. My wife, Lauren, and I were staying in a cabin near Murphy, N.C. It was the last day of our vacation, and I really just wanted to hang around the cabin and relax. But I knew that Lauren wanted to eat lunch one more time at the Natahala Outdoor Center about 45 minutes away. I knew this because we had talked about it the night before. Well, 40 minutes into the 45-minute car ride, Lauren tells me that she had really wanted to just hang around the cabin and relax today, but she knew that I really wanted to eat lunch in Natahala. Arrrrrgh! Checking is a very powerful strategy. It can save you many more important things than a last day at the cabin. It just goes to show the wisdom of an old saying - "It's not what you don't know that hurts you; it's what you know that is just not so." Cell Phone Number Portability Explained
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Wyatt_Doolittle]Wyatt Doolittle So what exactly is cell phone number portability (officially called Wireless Local Number Portability or Wireless LPN)? Cell Phone Number Portability is an option that a customer has where they can either keep their same cell phone number when changing from one cell phone carrier to another or get a new cell phone number. This only applies when moving within the metropolitan area. If your are moving from state to state or city to city the Wireless LPN does not apply. However some cell phone providers will port your same cell phone number when moving from state to state. Some cell phone providers will also charge a small amount to port your number from your old provider while most providers will provide this service for free. You will have to check with your new cell phone provider if there is a cost for the cell phone number portability. If you do decide to port your number it should only take a few hours for your new cell phone carrier to port your number from your old cell phone provider. It is usually a very seamless process. Some cell phone carriers will also port a land line phone number to your cell phone. Back in the old days when you changed your cell phone carrier you also HAD to get a new cell phone number. There was not an option to keep your same phone number. This was a big inconvenience for consumers. The new Wireless Local Number Portability is a great feature that should be taken advantage of. Now when you change cell phone providers you dont have to give your new cell phone number out to all of your friends and family. It is such a hassle first to remember to tell all of your friends and family that you have a new phone number and second actually letting everybody know your new number. What if you forget to tell some of your friends and family? Then they will never know your new phone number and will not be able to get a hold of you. Thats why this new cell phone number portability is so great. You will never have to worry about telling your friends and family about your new number. They will already have your cell phone number. Flirting 101 For Men and Women
By Terry Hernon MacDonald Do you get tongue-tied when you meet a person of the opposite sex? Or when youre meeting people for the first time? I did. Being shy gave me a reputation for being a snob, being hard to reach, and worst of all, having a superior attitude. Whether you're a man or a woman, it's hardly the image you hope to project when you want to make a love match or even a new friend. I met a woman who taught me a thing or two about looking approachable. One was to use my eyes when the right words locked up in my mouth. Its all in the eyes, this master flirt said, and shed never suffered a shortage of suitors, despite the fact that she was no Marilyn Monroe. Her boyish figure and the gap between her teeth discouraged nobody, thoughpeople were drawn to her because of what she was saying with her eyes! So I learned to convey interest in a guy with my eyes, even if I couldnt think of a pertinent response. I also learned to smile with my eyes, instead of just my mouth (smiling is so important; why oh why do people neglect to do it?). If shyness isnt your problem, speaking with your eyes is also the antidote to speaking too much with your mouth. Ive heard it said that God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason, and face it, good listeners often come off as brilliant conversationalists. Bonus: By listening carefully, you get to really know the person you're interested in and figure out whether he or she's worth your time. Another thing the flirt taught me was to nix turtlenecks in favor of V-neck blouses. Turtlenecks can make your neck look short, and they make you look uptight. If you're a woman, wear a blouse in a flattering shade and keep the top two buttons open. If you're a guy, go with a v-neck. The goal is to give that neck of yours a little exposure. It suggests vulnerability, which is attractive. Its also sexy. The tip to show neck may sound elementary if youre a woman and already wearing down-to-there necklines, but displaying too much skin is even worse than showing too little: Youll attract the very men you want to avoid. Oh, and if you're a guy, remove the baseball cap, please! Who cares if you're bald? Get rid of it. A bare head is so much more attractive than a baseball cap (or, worse, a cap with your mechanic's logo on it). Now that you know how to make yourself approachable, it's time for the next step: To get out and meet somebody. Turn off your computer and go for it! Doubts About Gastric Bypass? One Woman's Final Effort to Lose Weight Without Surgery
By Kaye Bailey One may think that on a website called LivingAfterWLS you would never read about conventional dieting: losing weight the old fashioned way by eating less and exercising more. One would think WLS proponents would say, It cant be done. The only way to lose massive weight is with surgery. We should shake our heads with all-knowing smugness and think, Well, it wont be long and she, too, will be on the surgical table. But I dont think that is fair. Who among us, in the first two difficult post-op years hasnt questioned, Was this really my last hope? Was this the only way to become healthy by losing weight? Ive questioned myself dozens of times, Kaye, did you really give it your all before you had surgery? I dont know the answer. It is too late for me to ask questions. My stomach has been chopped in two and my intestines re-routed for life. But its not too late for Kelly McCamey to ask questions and thats exactly what she did. One extraordinary LivingAfterWLS community member, Kelly McCamey was jumping through the pre-surgical hoops early this summer. During the approval process she asked herself, "Did you really give it your all, Kelly? Or are you escaping and doing this because you are weak?" Told she had severe sleep apnea she was denied surgery unless she submitted to using a machine to aid her breathing while she slept. At 52 and 287 pounds Kelly, 37, had a BMI of 52.5. Kelly was in trouble, but refused the machine. By refusing the machine she was denied surgery. I was determined now that I "had" to do this on my own, I had to quit playing and work out, watch my calories and stop the pity I had (for myself) because I was so big. I thought that if I gave myself this one last chance, I would really do it; before altering my life with gastric bypass surgery. Recalling years of obesity Kelly said, I was always too afraid to go to the doctor for fear they would put me on the scale. I did not take care of my health because I was ashamed to talk about my weight condition. I used to think nobody saw it; that I had everyone fooled. Not so! Fat is fat, no matter how you view it. So, it was at this point that I realized I had to do something fast for my own health. Kelly faced reality saying, I am a 37-year-old female who is very overweight. Kelly joined the a nationally known weight loss program on July 11, 2005. I met with a very nice representative named Sophia. It was at that point I realized how miserable I really was. As Sophia took my picture I saw my own face with the sickness that I have never seen before. I looked so unhealthy. I never believed I looked so unhealthy. But, I know I owed this to myself, I have always put others first, hid from the mirrors, hid behind the home and never wanted to do anything. I was always the first one to say, "No, I can't go, I have something to do". But that was so far from the truth. The weight loss program she joined has Kelly on a strict 1500 calorie a day diet, and her daily routine includes exercise, something she didnt enjoy before. She checks in on Monday evenings with her counselor Sophia. At her 5-week weigh-in she was down 21 pounds and feeling fabulous. That 21-pound weight loss dropped her BMI to 48.6. I feel so good, I can't begin to tell you! I went to a softball game Thursday and I didn't have to turn sideways to go through the turn styles! To me that was great! I would normally hide at home and sulk, but this time I went out with pride, even though I have a long way to go, I am really giving it my all. Look how far Kelly has come in just five weeks. I am personally awed and inspired by Kelly for her gutsy determination to lose weight the old fashioned way when all she really had to do was submit to the nighttime breathing machine and then have gastric bypass. Kelly acknowledges that losing weight is never easy. I am more pumped than anything, and I have come to the conclusion this is my way of life. I will always be that pretty girl that wants to come out, but not accepted by society as an overweight 37-year-old. I have been miserable and lonely because of my weight. Kelly wont have to be miserable in her own body much longer. She is on the right track to understanding what it takes to become healthier and happier by achieving a healthy weight. Kelly understands vigilance to eating and exercise is her new way of life. Kelly has agreed to share with LivingAfterWLS her story as she strives, just like the rest of us, to become a healthy weight in a world that makes it so easy to be fat. I know she is going to do just fine. Four Large Must Have Musical Boxes for Music Box and Antique Collectors
By Monique Hawkins Large musical boxes have been in existence since the 1820's. For the music box and antique collector, there are four large musical boxes which are particularly unique and "a must have" for any collection. They are the mandolin music box, piccolo music box, orchestra music box, and the rare revolver music box. Mandolin Music Boxes Mandolin music boxes are strung with four strings, which are the same as those of a violin. The resulting sound is one of romance with the notes drifting softly in the air. These music boxes typically are not difficult to find since a large number were made. Finding a music box such as this would be a special addition to the music box and antique collector of inlaid music boxes, ballerina music boxes, musical jewelry boxes, and more. Piccolo Music Box While piccolo music boxes are an octave higher than most music boxes, if the music box and antique collector can withstand its rather shrill notes, it too can be a collectors jewel. Since some of these music boxes were made with a harmony arrangement that accompanied the high pitched notes, the sound becomes much more pleasing. Orchestra Music Box This music box is unique and has everything. The music box is an interchangeable one with bells, drums, and organ. Some even have dancing dolls inside which move in time to the music. It would be a fun music box to have for any antique or music box collector. Revolver Music Box The revolver music box is quite rare. It is much more unique and impressive than some of the ballerina music boxes, musical jewelry boxes, and wooden keepsake boxes seen today. David Tallis in ?Music Boxes: A Guide for Collectors states: "Perhaps the most impressive piece of machinery in the musical box field is the Revolver Music box. Invented by Amedee Paillard at St Croix in 1870, it consisted of a set of cylinders fixed on a rotating shaft so that any one could be brought into contact with the comb at time. There are three illustrations of revolver boxes in Nicole Graham Webb's book, one being a fine mandolin box by Nicole Freres. It has six cylinders, each playing six airs; a repertoire of 36 airs without table or drawers. However, they were so difficult to make that very few are to be found." For the music box and antique collector, the mandolin music box, piccolo music box, orchestra music box, and revolver music box would be excellent collectible items. Why not add then to your collection today? Fuel Tips For Your Home

* Use small appliances like a toaster oven or electric skillet. On average,
they use half the energy of a full-size oven.
* Turn off the surface element or oven a few minutes before cooking
time is up. The pot is still hot enough to continue cooking.
* Don't line oven racks with foil. It blocks the heat flow and makes the
oven work harder to cook food.
* Do your heavy summer cooking in the cooler early morning or
evening hours. Try to use the range top more, the oven less.
* It takes energy to heat water so use as little as possible. Most frozen
or fresh vegetables can be cooked in a quarter cup of water. Even eggs
will cook in this reduced amount if the pan has a tight-fitting lid.
* In the oven, cook as many dishes as possible at one time. Foods with
cooking temperatures within 25 degrees can be cooked simultaneously
at the same temperature.
* Preheat the oven only when necessary. Many foods don't require it.
Use your self cleaning function while the oven is already hot.
* Don't peek into the oven. Each time the door is opened, the
temperature drops 25 to 50 degrees.
* With stews, soups, and other foods that need long cooking times,
cook in large quantities and freeze in meal-sized portions.
Use a pressure cooker. It cuts cooking time to one-third that of
conventional methods. Use a pressure cooker if possible. Here's my
favorite tip: If you're going to clean your oven using the self cleaning
function, do it while the oven is already hot! Laundry Most of the energy in a washing machine is used to heat the water. Use
warm or cold water when possible, and always rinse with cold water.
* Don't use more detergent than you need. Too many suds may require
extra rinsing.
* Put full loads in the dryer, but don't overload. Overloading makes the
machine less efficient and more costly to operate.
* Use warm or cold settings to dry, especially for permanent press
clothes.
* Always keep the lint filter clean.
* Don't overdry clothes.
* The dryer will run most efficiently when drying clothes of the same
thickness.
* Do two or more loads in a row. (The dryer is already hot) When
possible, use an outdoor clothesline rather than a dryer. (Especially
large blankets) Heating * Seal around areas where heat can escape such as windows, doors,
bathroom vents, and chimneys. Insulate attics and walls.
* Check the manufacturer's label before insulating your water heater; set
the temperature to about 120 .
* Properly maintain your heating system - have it inspected and cleaned
annually; replace furnace filters once a month during the heating
season, or as needed.
* Clean warm-air registers, baseboard heaters, and radiators as needed;
make sure furniture, carpeting and drapes do not block them.
* Reduce the thermostat setting when everyone is asleep or away from
the home. Consider installing a programmable thermostat.
* Install storm windows and lock your windows to create a tighter seal;
use drapes and shades at night to conserve heat.
* Close the damper on your wood stove and/or fireplace when not in
use.
* Invest in energy efficient appliances. Look for appliances with the
EnergyStar label. Please also view my saving fuel for your car article on my website. Cecilia Sherrard is a full time dedicated Realtor in Northeast Ohio. With

California Dog Bite Lawyer & Dog Attack Attorney Lawsuit Information - Dog Attack Laws
By Todd Going Dog attacks have been a serious problem in the United States. Reports estimate that around twenty Americans each year are killed by dog attacks. To make things worse, children make up the majority of these victims, as around five million victims of dog attacks are under the age of 18. There are certain types of dog breeds that can actually view children as threats. Sometimes children dont understand the dogs motives, and end up getting themselves into trouble. Since the late 1970s dog attacks have been on the rise in the United States. Currently there are around 65 million dogs that live in the United States and each year more people bring more and more of these animals into their homes. Of course, owning a dog is not considered dangerous, but many owners overlook the potential risks that they present. The reality is, any dog might attack under the right circumstances. It is very important that both dog owners and the victims of dog attacks know the dog attack regulations in their local area. Owners have a certain level of liability for the behavior of their pets, while the victims should also be aware of the regulations that affect their rights. For instance, in the United States most dog bite regulations say that the dog owner is liable for the dogs behavior. While this is true in many cases, other circumstances to take into consideration include trespassing, veterinarians, felons, provocation and whether the dog was a police or military dog. Dog bite regulations also include the one bite rule. This is a law that protects a dog owner from liability the first time his or her dog bites someone. However, there are some exceptions to this rule that include negligent or reckless conduct. If the same dog bites someone for the second time however, then the owner is held liable regardless of the circumstances behind the situation. Everyday around 1,000 people will need to seek emergency medical attention because of dog bites. Not only do these attacks cause physical pain, but they can also psychologically scar the victim for many years. This is especially true if the victim is just a young child. But, since dogs are such common and popular household pets, victims may suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder that is so intense that they wont be able to interact with any dogs for the rest of their lives. About $1 billion is spent each year in medical bills, insurance premiums and lost work due to dog attacks. Sometimes homeowners insurance can cover the damages caused by a dog attack, but generally the cost of the attack is paid for out-of-pocket. Dog attack lawsuits can help a victim recover monetary compensation for their injuries. If you or a loved one has been injured in a dog attack it is very important that you contact a dog bite attack lawyer today. Living Your Life In Spite of Pain
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jennifer_E_Sullivan] Jennifer E Sullivan What we perceive as pain is an interaction between several chemicals in the brain and spinal cord. These chemicals are called neurotransmitters. These neurotransmitters conduct nerve impulses from one nerve cell to another, and on to the brain. They do this by stimulating receptors found on the surface of nerve and brain cells, which function somewhat like gates, opening and closing to allow messages to pass from one nerve cell to the next. Many pain-relieving drugs work by acting on these receptors. Pain can be roughly divided in to two types: Acute pain, and chronic pain. Pain is described as acute when it basically doesnt last very long it is usually caused by an injury, illness, or surgery, and subsides as your body heals. Chronic pain is usually said to persist for at least 6 months after your body has healed from the illness or injury that first caused the pain in question. There are forms of chronic pain that defy diagnosis. This usually adds to the emotional lows, anger, and self esteem problems that can already arise from experiencing the chronic pain in the first place. Many patients who experience chronic pain can also find that it interferes with the day to day activities of their lives. Up to one-third of the entire population of the United States is affected by acute or chronic pain during the course of a year1. Given the passage of a significant amount of time, all of these problems, compounded with anxiety, can lead to poor response to treatment, and set up a vicious cycle of unending discomfort. You can, however, take steps to reclaim your life, and break the hold that pain can have over you! Find, and Bond With Your Doctor If you, like many other people, have had care from many different physicians, you may want to pick one, and stick with them. In addition to your family physician, you may want to consider also seeing a specialist, if you know what is causing your symptoms. If you dont, you may want to consider a pain management specialist. Bear in mind that you will still need to have a primary care physician to coordinate care and manage your general health. This is especially important in avoiding harmful drug interactions or conflicts in therapy. When youre choosing a doctor, youll want to make sure that, besides being someone that you feel you can trust, they are also knowledgeable about chronic pain issues. Beyond that, they should encourage and allow you to ask questions, and even to disagree with them. You should have a positive, proactive outlook on the road ahead, and your doctor should also share that. Tell Your Doctor Everything Your doctor can only help you if you give him or her as much information about your pain as possible. You should explain to your doctor the nature of your pain, where it is, how bad it is, and how often it occurs. If there are triggers that cause your pain, explain them also. Also, tell your doctor if anything makes the pain better. Dont forget to think about other, external factors that may not be readily apparent. Changes in your day-to-day schedule or even activities within the course of your day may be affecting you without your knowledge. Your doctor will want to also go over other health problems with you. Besides directly affecting your pain, they may also affect his or her choice of treatment for you. All of this will also assist in what is traditionally the first step in treating chronic pain: assessing the cause. Treatment Your doctor may prescribe various combinations of different therapies and medications to treat your pain. Generally, treatment can take the form of physical, behavioral, or occupational therapy, combined with various pain relievers, antidepressants, or anti-inflammatories.
Physical therapy can include walking, biking, etc, according to your situation, while behavioral therapy can teach you other pain control methods, such as meditation. Occupational therapy involves teaching you to more safely and efficiently accomplish everyday tasks, to minimize the risk of injury. A little about drugs: There are many pain-relieving drugs being used today. Opioid drugs block pain by locking onto opioid receptors in the brain. Other drugs control pain outside the brain, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These drugs, including aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen, inhibit hormones called prostaglandins, which stimulate nerves at the site of injury and cause inflammation and fever. Newer NSAIDs, including Celebrex (celecoxib) and Vioxx (rofecoxib) for rheumatoid arthritis, primarily block an enzyme called cyclooxygenase-2. Known as COX-2 inhibitors, these drugs may be less likely to cause the stomach problems associated with older NSAIDs, but their long-term effects are still being evaluated2.

If you smoke, or drink alcohol fairly frequently, you may want to modify your behavior. Quit smoking and drinking, or at the very least, cut back drastically. A healthy diet will help not only directly, but indirectly, by reducing the strain on your cardiovascular system, and reducing stress.
Using recreational drugs can also impact your health in a myriad of ways that you could not possibly foresee. Again, communication with your doctor is paramount. You and your primary care physician can map out all the things that you can do to try to reduce pain, and, if they work, you can modify your treatment accordingly. The key is to identify goals and obstacles to reducing pain, and tackling those goals and obstacles one at a time; then you can move on to the next challenge. Dont set unrealistic goals, because this will only lead to failure and frustration. It is most important for you to take a long, hard look at your life, and how your pain has affected the way you live it. Then, take the necessary steps to take your life back to change your behavior to reflect that you will no longer allow yourself to be controlled by pain. References 1. High Octane RC Cars - The Ultimate Toy for Both Kids and Adults
By Chadder McD. The need for speed is in all of us. No matter if it's buried deep down inside you, its there, just waiting to be satisfied. Youll know it when you pick up a remote control, pull a trigger and see an RC car shoot by you faster than what you ever thought was possible. Super fast RC cars and trucks will elicit a weird, awe-struck smile from 8 year olds and 50 year olds alike. Some of the fastest RC cars and trucks come prepared as ready-to-run/race or RTR. The RTR RC vehicles are available at many hobby stores, but to find the greatest deals, you don't need to look further than the computer your sitting in front of. Retailers online of RTR RC trucks, cars and boats most often provide a broader selection of trucks, cars and boats than even the largest hobby stores. Also, since they dont have a physical store to maintain, they can offer products to you a lot cheaper than a typical hobby store. There are a few different types of RC vehicles available and its expensive to learn which type would best suit its driver. A basic model RC car is the battery powered type. Many advancements have taken place in battery power output, especially with NiMh and L-I batteries (Nickel Metal Hydride and Lithium Ion, respectively) becoming more popular and widely available. The result has been faster battery powered RC trucks, cars and boats and theyre a good bet for younger children who might not foresee the dangers of running a 70Mph gas powered RC car into a brick wall or something else much more expensive like Dad's new car for example. Gas powered RC cars, trucks and boats have been around for awhile and ready-to-run models can reach top speeds of 50+Mph. Thats fast, plain and simple. With a little know-how and the proper parts, anyone is capable of upgrading their rc vehicle to reach even faster top speeds. The gas powered RC vehicles start at around $100. The nitrous powered RC vehicles are a combination of gas powered RC cars and trucks that use a special nitro methane fuel mixture to create top speeds that are nothing less than scary. There are nitro powered RC vehicles that come ready-to-run and itll cost you around $300 for the pleasure. These cars have been modified by professional hobbyists to reach speeds of over 100Mph in good conditions. Beleive it or not, these little engines can produce similiar horsepower as that of a low-end lawnmower, this can only result in one thing: Speed. After getting your car, the only need to get started is a debris free parking lot, fuel and batteries for the remote control. You might as well haul along some friends as well, because they'll be astonished when you tell them the blazing speeds your toy can hit. This high-octane hobby is one thatll sweep the nation before you know it because no matter who you are - blazing fast is always fun. Setting Up Boundaries in Relationships
By Stephanie Manley Setting up personal boundaries is important in all types of relationships, but in intimate ones, it is all the more important. As with the closer the relationship will become it is easier for those lines to blur. You may ask yourself what is a boundary and why setting, or recognizing them do for me. Boundaries are personal limits we have with other people emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Often we already have these built-in, but sadly we often ignore them because we were taught to be nice to everyone, or that our desire to be in a relationship may outweigh how we behave. There are at least three different categories of boundaries: physical, emotional, and spiritual. The easiest to understand is the physical boundary, as we experience this one literally on a daily basis. Think of this has if someone is standing too close to you, and how that makes you recoil inside slightly. If you were to apply this to a relationship or someone you may be dating it may take place in terms of a forced physical intimacy before you are ready. Often when these initially happen we get an uncomfortable feeling, it can be a shortness of breath, a sense of being violated, or something like a sinking feeling in your stomach. These are all signs our boundaries are working, and we need to pay attention to them. Emotional boundaries can impact us in every day life as well. These typically take place in situations where we know the other person. This can be something like a co-worker making an emotional appeal for you to by trash bags for their child for fundraising. This can be our potential dating partner trying to force emotional intimacy through revealing too much about themselves, or asking us to do the same for them. A violation of an emotional boundary could be a potential mate trying to secure a commitment in a relationship before we are ready. Once again if we feel uncomfortable when these things happen, its time to pay attention, and ask ourselves what is making us feel this way. Spiritual boundary violations can be very devastating. A very easy example of this may be when a child seeks approval from a parent for something they have done, and then that child is met with criticism. These violations tend to run deeper than an emotional one since they feel like an attack on us. This could be a partner making an overly harsh comment, or if someone is putting someone else down and making you feel uncomfortable. When these transgressions happen you should take note, other people should not make you feel bad, and attacks on the spirit can be difficult to get over. When your boundaries are violated, you often have a negative reaction and my not know why. Learning about where your personal limits are is a wonderful way for you to set expectations in a relationship, and learn about yourself. There is no better time for you to do this than before a relationship starts, or in beginning of a relationship. Re-setting your boundaries in older relationships is possible, but it will come with a longer adjustment period. Take time to establish what your personal expectations are, so you are always comfortable in your relationships. Editor for Copykat.com, Stephanie also writes a variety of other articles from her own personal experiences in life. The 10 Biggest Career Change Mistakes - And How to Avoid Them
By Patricia Soldati Career change is no walk in the park. If it was easy, the castle gates would have burst long ago under the stampede of restless corporate warriors. Even with a burning desire to escape, the gritty issues of money and future work loom larger than life. Add in the trauma of a lost security blanket and youve got a love-hate relationship that keeps you marching stoically in place. It doesnt have to be that way. Successful career-changers take one step at a time. Learn a littlemake a little progress. Learn a little more. Take a giant leap forward.
You control the process from beginning to end. When youre energy is strong, act boldly; when youre feeling less confident, slow down. Learn all you can about the process of changeand educate yourself about the most common mistakes career-changers make, too. Heres a list of the 10 biggest and how to avoid them. 10 Biggest Career-Change Mistakes 1. Not seriously focused. Career change is a big and amorphous creature. Like any major life event, it takes consistent focus. Dont dabble! Jump in solidly with both feet. Schedule regular career change time into your calendar. 2. Poor support. Career change generally doesnt result from just reading a book. It requires a variety of resources and partnering with mentors who are both knowledgeable and objective. Create a short list of who could be most valuable to you. 3. Too few clues. To identify new work possibilities, you need a robust set of specific clues about your values, motivational preferences and skills. Start with about 20 25 values, passions, skills and preferences, and hone it down to 12 15 that resonate most for you. 4. Too much in your head. You cant think your way into work you love it requires moving into action asking questions, seeking advice, networking, experimentation. 5. Waiting for the perfect time. There isnt one, so take the first step now. Career change usually takes from one to three years. The sooner you start, the sooner youll enjoy work that honors all of you body, mind and spirit. 6. Living in hope. That things will changemagic will happensomeone will come along and fix it. NOT!. You control your destinyone day at a time. 7. Doesnt take the long view. Reluctant to re-train or take other steps to wire yourself for success. Career change is long-term. Bite it off in small chunks. 8. Accepts emotional pain as a way of life. Truly, it doesnt have to work this way. Loving life isnt just for weekends. 9. Fails to create financial reserves that can enable change. Try this out -- see how much you can cut expenses and keep, virtually, your same lifestyle. I think youll surprise yourself. 10. Thinking you are too old. You are not -- whatever your age. The average age of my client list is 45; the mean is 48; the oldest is 57; the youngest is 36. Each day, you have a choice about how you want to live your life. Make it one that will give you all the peace and fulfillment that you deserve. Raw Food Diet
By Eddie Tobey As its name implies, a raw food diet is based on consuming unprocessed organic or whole plant-based foods. At least 75% of the food remains uncooked. The diet includes foods like fresh fruits and vegetables. Raw foods usually contain essential food enzymes in higher quantity than in cooked food. A raw food diet brings out significant improvements in health. It makes the person feel extremely energized. It is generally followed to maintain weight and reduce fat in the body. The cooking process destroys vitamins and minerals and therefore cooked foods take longer to digest and also partially clog up stomachs and arteries. A large part of food that is cooked can go into fat production, because heat and the acids alter it making it tough to get metabolized even in a complex process. In contrast, raw food breaks down the food into small components that get directly metabolized in a variety of cells. Raw foods are fresh and better in quality, and therefore they solve your nutritional needs. The cooking heat damages the proteins and fats and also destroys enzymes that help the process of digestion. Protein is found in raw nuts and seeds such as sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, and filberts. Sprouts are considered a good source of protein. Increased energy levels, improved appearance of skin, improved digestion, weight loss, and reduced risk of heart disease are a few benefits of following the raw food diet. The main benefit of raw food diet is that when the percentage of raw foods increases, you feel satisfied and have more energy on smaller meals, because raw food has the best balance of water, nutrients, and fiber to meet your body's needs. One thing has to be taken care of when following the raw food diet. The problem with taking raw food diet is that raw food materials have high pesticide contents. So, it's preferable to go for organic food materials to reduce the chances of side effects and to get the full benefits of the diet. Does God Heal Today?
By David Ben-Ariel I'd never faced this decision before... I didn't know what to do. When I was first diagnosed with the HIV virus, I read innumerable articles on it and later suffered from an information overload and depressing confusion. One article would speak in favor of taking the highly toxic HIV/AIDS medicines, and then I'd read another one that spoke against it with just as convincing of an argument. As a Church of God member, I knew we encourage members to have faith in God and teach doctors have their place but that it is very limited. As I told my doctor: Miracles have no side effects and are for free. We're all familiar with the poor lady in the scriptures who spent all she had on doctors and wasn't any better for it and then Jesus mercifully healed her. I cried out to God: I don't know what to do. What should I do? I know you can heal me, but what am I supposed to do for myself? And shortly thereafter called my mother, who simply said: You could always try the medicines and if you don't like them, you can always stop taking them. How logical! I immediately began my HIV drug therapy, my AIDS cocktail. I know some who have taken meds with few side effects but I could hardly walk when I first started -- it was worse than being a staggering drunk -- and the nightmares were out of this world...when you finally fell asleep. Later I regained my balance but the nightmares, nightsweats and irritability continued. I would be drenched like I had just gotten out of the shower and I would have some tingling in my arms and legs. Regardless, I strictly adhered to the program for over a year and then said enough was enough. I admit it reduced the HIV viral load to undetectable (although it's still lurking). I decided I wanted quality over quantity of life. I would rather feel good for less years than have more years in misery. At least that sounded good. Again, I saw stories on television about others who praised the meds and were near death and bounced back, but one thing is sure: everybody is an individual and everybody must make up their own mind about whether or not to take medicines. My infectious disease doctor wanted me on the meds and encouraged me to try another regimen. So I tried nine pills a day of this with two a day of that and endured for several weeks and then said I would rather be dead and stopped again. Later I went on other drugs, and took Bactrim to fight off infections and although I didn't have any serious side effects, I just didn't feel right. I actually felt so much better off the drugs! So I created my own program: on drugs for 6-8 weeks to knock my viral load down (because I start to get scared as it escalates) and then go off them. I discovered it's called Systematic Treatment Interruption which some studies suggested was good but now the consensus appears to be it's bad, although I'm skeptical about the lucrative drug industry, a view that has been reinforced by Dr. Peter Duesberg. I've seen Scriptures where God promises to forgive all your sins and heal all your diseases (Ps. 103:3), and wonder why God hasn't removed this self-inflicted dreaded disease from me since I have confessed and forsaken my sins (Jer. 30:15, 17). (Some have diseases through no fault of their own). I also know AIDS has helped me to stay celibate, as the Bible prescribes for all singles, and that God says, My grace is sufficient for you (2 Cor. 12:9). I've had miraculous answers to prayer; I'm confident God can heal: I shall not die, but live and declare the works of the LORD. The LORD has chastened me sore, but He has not given me over to death (Ps. 118:17-18). Thy will be done.
