Shop Late and Alone to Save Time and Money

By Kelly McCausey If you want to save money on your grocery budget, be sure to leave the children at home and if you want to get through the aisles faster, try shopping late at night. It might sound crazy to you but really think about it. Wouldn't it be a nice treat to get out of the house for an hour or so in the evening? Just you and your shopping list without a 'Mommy I need you!' in ear shot. If there's one thing that is sure to put me in a sour mood, it's waiting in a line at the store! I can't stand looking at the long row of empty check outs that I could be waltzing through if there were only more cashiers on duty! Shopping late cures that, I never have to wait my turn for anything. If hubby isn't thrilled at the prospect of getting the kids off to bed on his own, show him how your late night foraging is going to save the family budget a lot of dough. First of all, taking the kids with you to the store almost always ends up costing you more money. Whether it's candy and pop at the check out or all the 'Momma, we have to have this!' items that they beg for while wandering the store all those extras add up. When it's just you, you're more likely to stick to your list. It's my experience that shopping with kids in tow will cause me to spend an average of $15 a week more on groceries. That's $60 a month and over $700 in a year. Offer to funnel the extra cash into a family vacation fund. That ought to go over well. When the kids ask why you don't take them shopping anymore you can just tell them you'd rather take them to Disney World. Kelly McCausey hates to wait in line for anything. History of Sewing Machines

By Alison Cole Prior to the invention of sewing machines, clothes and other materials were sewn by hand. Hand sewing is an art form that was practiced over 20,000 years ago. During those days, sewing needles made of bone or animal horns and thread made of animal sinew were used. In the beginning of 14th century, iron needles were invented and later in the 15th century eyed needles were introduced. It is believed that the first known attempt for a workable sewing machine was framed in 1790 by Thomas Saint. In 1800, sewing machine was invented and by the mid-nineteenth century it became popular among the public. After Thomas Saint, various attempts were made for inventing a sewing machine. But, all of them turned unsuccessful. In 1830, Barthlemy Thimonnier-a French tailor- came out with the first functional sewing machine. It used only one thread and a hooked needle for a chain stitch. Later in 1834, Walter Hunt came with an idea for double-thread sewing machine and it was regarded as America's first successful sewing machine. The machine devised by Walter Hunt was a straight-seam sewing machine that used reciprocating eye-pointed needle and an oscillating shuttle. Following Walter Hunt, Elias Howe developed a machine which had the same features as that of Hunt's sewing machine. After Elias Howe, Isaac Merit Singer patented a similar machine and was regarded as the first commercially successful machine. Singer's machine included a straight eye-pointed needle and transverse shuttle, a table to support the cloth horizontally, a vertical presser foot to hold the material against the upward stroke of the needle, and an overhanging arm to hold the presser foot. Instead of a hand crank, Singer's machine used a foot treadle similar to that of a spinning wheel. Helen Augusta Blanchard, Allen Wilson, John Bradshaw, Charles Miller, and James Edward Allen Gibbs were the other contributors who produced a remarkable framework for sewing machines. Sewing Machines provides detailed information on Sewing Machines, Industrial Sewing Machines, Embroidery Sewing Machines, Antique Sewing Machines and more. Sewing Machines is affiliated with Portable Steam Cleaners. Medical Billing PDA: 21st Century Convenience for Medical Practices

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Joe_Miller] Joe Miller Medical Billing PDA One of the first things I notice about a medical office, whether it be with my dentist, my family doctor, or my optometrist, is the walls full of color-coded files containing medical histories, billing information, and tracking information for prescriptions check ups and various other things. As a patient, it is fun to trace the colored tags across the files and wonder what they mean. Doctors know exactly what they mean, and they see those color-coded files in a totally different light. That wall of folders is vital and almost overwhelming information to help the practice care adequately for its patients. One of the challenges of that wall is that it represents limited access to patient records, especially billing record, when away from the office. It reminds me of Pinocchio singing I got no strings, while still getting tangled up in all of the strings around him. Medical Billing PDA is an example of how a practice can act without strings. At anytime while traveling to conferences or leaving the office for any other reason, medical billing PDA technology eliminates strings and increases accessibility to what is most important: patients. Patient Tracking Wherever a doctor may be, whether traveling on the way to the office in the morning or on a plane back from vacation or a conference, he or she will always be able to keep track of his or her patients. On the way to the office, the doctor can go into the appointment tracking on a pocket PC and retrieve information for the day. At the end of every day the doctor can simply dock the PDA to synchronize with the practices database and update the PDA to contain the appointment information for the next day. Billing information, patient information, and other information are available as well, no strings attached. Real-Time Updates Perhaps the newest convenience feature available using medical billing PDA is that it can work with a wireless card to retrieve real-time information on just about anything. Professional services, patient diagnosis, medical procedure information, patient records, and anything else can be retrieved and sent from anywhere using the internet. Compatibility A day at the office or at a hospital can be very hectic. A doctor can be tied down to many things at once. It is important to be able to provide adequate attention to patients and to streamline administrative strings. Using medical billing PDA, doctors can enter information on patients as they visit them and later synchronize them into the system either through docking or wireless at the end of the day. Not only is medical billing PDA compatible with the difficult schedule of the medical professional, but it is also compatible with medical compliant forms and billing. Billing information that is transmitted is accurate and timely. Just what the doctor ordered. Student Loans Regardless of Credit History: Make a Choice

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jones_Fischer]Jones Fischer Passing through University can be tough. Especially if you have to break your hiney off to get money in order to pay education costs. I know what I'm saying. I went through it. I had to work hard and study even harder if I wanted to continue studying. I already had some student loans but it wasn't enough, and I was afraid I wouldn't get another because of my credit history. Then, a friend of mine introduced me to non credit based student loans. At first I was skeptic about them because he told me there were secured student loans and unsecured student loans. Hearing those words made shivers come up my back. I though what kind of people would give student loans regardless of credit history to guys like me. I definitely wasn't the best guy to loan money to, and my credit history showed it. Education at all Costs I thought about it for some time but I knew I had to make a choice sooner or later. Either I opted for the student loan without credit check or I told my parents to loan me some money and feel them saying the all time dreaded words... "I told you so". I wanted to get my bachelors degree so bad within a week I had a decision. It was a close call but I chose to get the student loans regardless of my credit history. Education is very important in my family so I had to finish university not only because of myself and my future, but because of my parents and brothers. Getting the student loan was the best choice I could take because with it and a couple more I ultimately finished my higher education. The way I see it, student loans are there for a reason, and they are there to help you out. What Every Person Should Know Before Starting a Diet

By Mary Mason-Shields Before starting a weight loss program, you should know why losing unwanted pounds is so much harder than gaining. You should focus more on your health than the loss of pounds alone. Just before you start any diet or weight loss plan, you should set your weight loss goal. Make sure your goal is realistic, one that you can stick to until you reach that goal. Your weight loss plan should not be structured in a way that you are losing weight too fast. Losing weight too fast will produce unhealthy and unsuccessful results. Oftentimes, the weight you think you are losing is fluid, not fat. It is hard to control the cycle of weight loss and weight again if you are on a quick weight loss plan. Before starting a weight loss program, you must be cognizant of the media. The media preys on your emotional senses. The media will give you so many weight loss choices it will be hard for you to make a realistic choice. You need to have some knowledge of what type of diet will give you the desired results. There are several ways to lose weight. You can lose water or fluid weight, lose muscle weight and you can lose body fat. Losing water weight is probably the easiest to do but it comes with some risks. You could reduce your water intake, thus losing water weight, which will lead to dehydration. This is definitely not a healthy way to lose a few pounds. When you return to drinking water, the weight you thought you lost will be regained. Reducing your caloric intake too much causes your body to slow down your metabolism. When your metabolism slows down, your body gets its energy from your muscle tissue because you have stopped losing fat. In this instance you are losing muscle weight. Before starting a weight loss plan, evaluate each of the statements above so that you can become knowledgeable in planning your weight loss. In order to lose weight successfully, you simply need to burn more calories than your caloric intake and maintain your metabolism level. Keep in mind that the maximum healthy weight loss is between two and five pounds per week. Anything more is considered unhealthy and unrealistic. Mary Mason-Shields encourages this form of weight loss motivation to help you unload those unwanted pounds and help you find that little person you lost. This will also help you begin a healthy and nutritious diet plan.

Restaurant Soup Recipes Are All The Rage

By Sarah Sandori Scientists claim to have confirmed what grandmothers have known for centuries, that chicken soup is good for colds and other ills. Garlic soup is also a well-known cure-all. Next time someone under your roof is knocked out with crud, why not give them a double shot of goodness by making a batch of garlic chicken soup? Mmm. Soup goes back a long, long way in human history: The archaeological evidence of someone stirring up a pot of soup for a meal dates to around 6000 BC. Soup is a great starter for almost any meal. It's a comfort food, and, all by itself, makes a perfect meal for a wintry or rainy day--just add some bread and maybe a salad on the side, and the nutritional balance is complete. One of the best things about soup is that you can make it up in large quantities and freeze the extra to thaw, heat and enjoy at any time. Another suggestion: Add leftover pasta to a favorite soup to bulk it up and make it heartier. Soup need not be boring--far from it. Cooks are discovering all kinds of creative ways to make it exciting. Undoubtedly, some of the most interesting soup creations today are found on the menus of those bread-and-soup restaurants that are springing up everywhere. When your main offerings are bread and soup, you know you have to go the extra mile to make your menu as enticing as possible! The other day I went to one of those bread-and-soup places and sipped a cup of tomato basil soup that was one of the most delicious taste experience I've ever had. I knew I had to get the recipe. Fortunately, the manager of this restaurant was happy to oblige me. You can find many restaurant soup recipes on the Web nowadays; you just have to do a little digging to find the particular one that you encountered the last time you dined out. Or, you can download one of the inexpensive ebooks that are filled with "secret" recipes from America's top restaurants--including those wonderful soups. Soup is the great culinary comeback story of recent years. Why not enjoy a bowl today? Sarah Sandori is the food and entertaining columnist for the Solid Gold Info Writers Consortium. Are Your Emotions Making You Sick - The Seven Emotions That Can Destroy Your Health

By Roslyn Motter You have probably realized that your emotions can make you sick, but do you know why? Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has the answer. You have probably noticed that when you have an extreme emotion, your pulse and breathing change, you lose your appetite and / or your urination or defecation become more frequent. TCM identifies seven injurious emotions. These are excessive joy, anger, fear, anxiety, fright, pensiveness and grief. Over time, extremes in these emotions cause havoc in the body. Each of the seven emotions is attracted to a particular organ. An excess of anger damages the liver. An excess of fear and fright damage the kidneys. An excess of joy damages the heart. An excess of grief damages the lungs. An excess of sympathy /pensiveness damages the spleen. Fear arises from thoughts in your mind, while fright is caused by a sudden shock. No particular damage is attributed to anxiety but it is assumed to have the same effect as sorrow. Conversely, if any of the major organs are weak, they will generate the emotion that is affiliated with them. So if your spleen is weak, you will become an extremely sympathetic or pensive person. Alcoholics and drug addicts who have damaged their livers, can be very angry people. People with weak kidneys are often timid and nervous. Have you ever heard of someone having a heart attack after they have won the lottery? Also people can manifest lung cancer from grief after their life partner has died. Anger causes the qi to ascend; joy causes the qi to scatter; sorrow and anxiety cause the qi to disperse; fear causes the qi to descend; pensiveness causes the qi to become knotted; and fright causes abnormality in the qi. Qi is the vital energy or life force in our bodies. Each organ has its own qi. For example, extreme anger causes the liver qi to rise upwards through the liver channel. The liver channel travels right through the body connecting the liver to other major organs and to the skin. Hence, damage to the liver can affect the eyes, shoulders, back, nails and tendons. It can also cause migraine and headaches. If it is not treated, it can adversely affect the heart, to which the liver provides nourishment. It could also affect the stomach and spleen causing alternate diarrhea and constipation. Breast problems such as lumps and swelling can be traced back to liver problems. Be aware though that it is not only expressed anger that can damage the liver suppressed anger can too. In fact, it is quite normal and healthy to express anger when appropriate. It is only the extreme of emotion that is unhealthy. It is far better to express anger (within reason) than to repress it. Suppressed anger is expressed in the body as depression. We probably all know a kind and helpful person that has been constantly put upon by their friends and family. They never complain and they appear to be perfectly happy with their lot, but one day they contract cancer. Repressed anger causes stagnation in the liver and this leads to stagnation in other organs. Emotions just do not damage their own organ. Due to the channel relationships within the body, any excessive emotion will inevitably lead to damage in the liver channel. The liver rules the emotions, balancing them and ensuring there is free circulation of qi. When an emotion gets stuck in an organ and the liver is unable to shift it, the liver becomes blocked. Also, because of the unique position of the heart as emperor of the body and its affiliations with all major organs, it is damaged by all emotions too. At times we are all likely to be subject to emotional extremes. Life is just like that. People die and we become grief stricken. People make us furious and situations make us frightened. So what can we do? Controlling emotions is easier said than done. Meditation, tai chi and yoga are all helpful in relaxing the body and mind. Acupuncture calms the emotions and frees up the qi. Flower essences (available from health food stores) and homeopathy are also excellent for changing blocked mental patterns. It takes time, but in due course you will find yourself become a calmer person and you will find that your health improves accordingly. Roslyn J. Motter is a Sydney, Australia registered acupuncturist with her own clinic.

Translation Companies: Playing Detective on Prospective Vendors

By Fred Zacharias Finding the right translation service company can be a bit of a trial in itself. Ideally the personal coordinating the translation project whether it's a middle manager or a consultant should have experience with detailing requirements of a translation project and be able to oversee it's progress from thought to completion. If that isn't possible try brainstorming some potential contacts- perhaps even within your own circle of friends and acquaintances that may be able to provide leads to a suitable translator. Hey, we live in such multicultural world, that we probably can't help but know someone who is bilingual and perhaps even is knowledgeable in the language you are currently pursuing in your project. Another thing you can do is seek out a portfolio of the translation service company or freelancer that has piqued your interest. You can call up some of their current or previous clients and find out how happy they are with the job that was provided for them. If you are planning on following this route it is best to do your due diligence first and find companies that have had projects with similar requirements and target markets as the one you are trying to get off the ground. English to hebrew translation associated offerings and services are accessible at the author's website. http://www.translationserviceguide.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Fred_Zacharias http://EzineArticles.com/?Translation-Companies:-Playing-Detective-on-Prospective-Vendors&id=252463 online purchase viagra

RV Warranties - Are They Worth the Money?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Barry_Wilder]Barry Wilder RV Warranties Extended Service Contracts Many consumers are uncertain when it comes to the question of Extended Service Contracts, or RV Warranties, as they are more commonly called. Theyre not sure if they need the additional protection and coverage that an extended RV warranty can offer. Many people have been lead to believe that extended RV warranties are simply a profit center for the RV dealer. This is true to some extent. Many RV dealers mark up the warranty prices from 100% to 300%, however Internet based companies can be much more competitive when it comes to RV warranty prices. You shouldnt allow yourself to be pressured by the dealer to add the coverage when you are signing the purchase papers on your new RV. You may decide to add it at that time, but you should shop around and compare coverages and costs, just as you did when you purchased your RV. Most RV manufacturers warranty their new units from 1 to 2 years. If the RV is motorized, the chassis manufacturer may warranty the engine and drive line for a longer period. If you have purchased a used RV from a dealer, there is generally a very limited warranty, if any normally lasting approximately 30 days. If you have purchased a used unit from an individual, there is generally no warranty whatsoever. In most cases, you must initiate your warranty coverage before your manufacturers warranty runs out. Many companies however, will allow you to warranty a vehicle which you have purchased used, or after the manufacturer's coverage has expired. An extended RV warranty is an excellent way to protect your investment. Many RVs cost nearly as much as a new home, and in some cases, even more. Why not spend a little extra for a LOT of additional peace of mind while you travel? Internet Based RV Warranty Companies Just as the RV dealer has a very high overhead, commissions and other costs to consider when pricing the coverages he offers; Internet based companies usually have much lower operating costs. Dont assume that the Internet based RV Warranty coverages are less comprehensive than what the dealer has offered. Internet companies can normally provide many of the same warranty programs available from RV dealers. The are not only able to provide the same, or very similar warranty program the dealer offers, but at a much lower cost. Consumers should always investigate the company that administers the warranty and claims, as well as the company that re-insures the policy. In other words, if the primary company went out of business, you are insured that the "re-insuring" company would step in and continue to honor and administer claims on existing policies. Points to Consider Claims Payments You need to be aware of how the claims are paid. The preferred method of claims payment is through the Warranty Companys corporate credit card. This allows payment to be made directly to the repair facility. Some companies require you to pay for the repairs first - and then submit the claim. It can take weeks or even months to recover your out of pocket expenses in this case. Deductibles You will have a choice of deductible amounts, normally ranging from ZERO to $200, or more. There is normally very little cost difference between the lower and higher deductible amounts. It is usually advantageous to choose a lower deductible amount since the deductible will apply to each and every repair done to the RV. Termination and Transferability Your warranty coverage should be transferable if you sell your RV. It should have a prorated refund policy if you decide to terminate the coverage at any time during the warranty period. Repair Facilities and Coverage Areas You should also be sure that you could have any covered repair done at any authorized RV repair facility. The coverage should be good anywhere in the United States or Canada. Rarely, if ever will a warranty cover you in Mexico, so keep that in mind if you decide to take a vacation south of the border. Additional Benefits Many RV warranties have additional benefits such as towing reimbursement, rental car allowances, towing and road service, and lost key and lockout service. Some plans will even pay for your meals and lodging while your RV is being repaired. Optional Coverages Most policies also offer optional benefits at an additional cost. These options can cover items such as: Seals and gaskets, audio and video components, additional towing benefits, commercial use and even normal wear and tear. You should also be aware that California is now a "dealer obligor" state. The dealer is responsible for the performance of the service contract, and not the administrator, nor the insurance company. Online and telephone solicitor warranty companies are prohibited to sell directly to California Residents and that means any online or warranty company. Summary Most experienced RV'ers will tell you that a good warranty is like a gun... It is better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. The key is to find the best coverage possible for the best price. You depend on your RV when youre on the road for lodging and transportation and you want it to work properly, especially when youre hundreds or even thousands of miles from home. Extended RV warranties can provide peace of mind and are usually well worth the money spent. Its up to you to research the various companies and programs offered to obtain the best coverage for the money. Thanks to the Internet, it is much easier to compare pricing and plans and chooses the coverage thats just right for you and your RV. Barry Wilder

Liberty Head Nickels - Coins For The Collector

By Brian Edwards The Liberty Head Nickel came in with a bang and left with a bigger bang. When Charles Barber designed the coin as a replacement for the Shield Nickel he placed a large Roman numeral V on the reverse of the coin to represent five cents. Because the coin was roughly the same size as the five dollar gold piece a whole group of enterprising crooks began gold plating the coin and passing them off as five dollar gold pieces. The coin was quickly redesigned and the word "cents" was added to the reverse, thus ending a very profitable business for the criminal class. Production was fairly steady for the rest of the production run. The series was officially ended in 1912 to make way for the Buffalo Nickel. However, an enterprising mint employee struck five 1913 proof coins with a master die and then slipped them out of the mint. The coins first appeared to in numismatic circles in 1920. However, it is interesting to note that the coin collecting community was not even aware of the coins until a dealer named Samual W. Brown place an ad offering to buy any proof examples in the December 1919 issue of the ANA journal "Numismatist". Then during the ANA convention in 1920 he offered to pay $600 dollars for all examples. Since he actually owned all five specimens, this was just a way to build speculation and establish a market value for the coins. This was enough to create a stir among coin collectors but it took another enterprising coin dealer to make this one of the most famous coins in America. Coin dealer B. Max Mehl begain one million dollar advertising campaign nation wide in 1930 that offered $50 for every 1913 Liberty Nickel sent to him. This created a sensation and people around the country began searching for the elusive nickel. The nation was in the early stages of the Great Depression and fifty dollars was a great deal of money. The real intent of Mehl's campaign was peddling his "Star Rare Coin Encyclopedia." Mehl never did purchase a 1913 Nickel but he did manage to produce and sell 30 editions of his encyclopedia and became very rich in the process. Today, two of the coins reside in museums , one in the Smithsonian Institution, and one in the American Numismatic Association's Money Museum The other three are in private collections. The finest known specimen sold for $1,840,000 in a 1996 auction, and later resold for $4,150,000 in 2005. The "Olsen specimen", famous for having been featured on an episode of Hawaii Five-O, brought $3,000,000 when it was auctioned in 2003. Type Information The general type coin collector will normally obtain one example of the Liberty Nickel. For the specialized type coin collector two major varieties of the Liberty Nickels were minted, one without the word "cents" one the reverse and the other with cents added. The first variety was minted in 1883 and the with cents coin produced from 1883 until 1913. Collector Points With the exception of 1912, all Liberty Nickels were produced at the Philadelphia mint. The three are low-mintage issues were produced in 1885, 1886 and 1912-S-but there are no great rarities. The 1912-S, at 238,000, is the only coin with a mintage below a million. Proofs were struck every year and at relatively high mintages for the period. Because of a better design, the "V" nickels are well struck. Because of this collectors should avoid weakly stuck coins. There good quantities of well struck coins available. Investor Information The Liberty Nickels are well known among collectors because of the "no cents" version and the highly hyped 1913 edition. However, they are still mostly collected by type collectors. Well preserved examples are readily available and prices don't increase dramatically until they higher end on the mint state and proof state scales. Finally, although the "no cents" variety was only minted for part of the first year of production it was saved in large quantities by the public. As a result, they are relatively common in the higher grades. This is great for collectors but not so great for investors. Visit www.uscoinfacts.com for a wealth of data about US Coins. It's Time For My Date To Meet My Family and Friends, What Should I Do?

By Nocita Carter If youre letting your date meet your family and friends you must be getting more serious about the person youre dating. Thats good. You may be a little apprehensive about your date meeting your family and friends because you want things to go well. You want your friends and family to like the person you date and your date to like them. Dont worry about it! Just be yourselves and move forward with the introductions! Here are some tips and information that may help you when youre preparing to have your date meet your family and friends: 1) You may want to prepare your date for meeting your family by making them aware of any family traditions or what may be expected by your family. For example, if your family expects on Sundays' that everyone in the family attend dinner at your parents home by 5:00 p.m., let the person youre dating know this. 2) Introduce your date to your friends. Yes thats right its okay to see what your friends think about your date! Just dont hold your friends opinion to heart if they dont like the person youre dating. Ultimately its your choice on how you feel about the person youre interested in. 3) Let your date know about certain family members and friends that may cause or have a prospective problem with your date. You know the family member or friend who does not think anyone you date is good enough for you and their attitude is usually very negative. Let your date know what to expect and that this would be normal behavior for that particular person. That way your date wont be surprised if your family or friend is negative towards them. This will hopefully ease a potential problem brewing for your date prior to them meeting people they dont know. 4) Make sure your date will be comfortable or is actually ready to meet your family and friends. If theyre not, then hold off on them meeting them. You want to make sure that your date is ready to take that leap and you dont want to push them into doing something theyre not prepared to do. Take it slow, youll eventually get there. Remember, patience is a virtue! 5) Anything else you can think of to prepare your date to meet your family and friends. Just make sure your date is prepared to meet the other significant people in your life. Meeting your family and friends can be an interesting and informative experience for your date. It can also be a challenge to your relationship that could possibly be a relationship ender. Thats why its important for you to give your date some background information on your family and friends. Think about the two of you, its your relationship and you both must be happy with each other. So, follow your heart and youll both make the right decision about each other before and after your date has met your family and friends. Making the Decision to Refinance Your Car Loan - 3 Things to Consider

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=L._Sampson]L. Sampson Before you make the decision to refinance your car loan, there are some things you need to consider. This article offers tips on what to consider before refinancing your car loan: Interest Rate The most common reason a person wants to refinance is to get a better interest rate. Perhaps you had bad credit when you took out your car loan, and, now that your credit has improved, you want to refinance under a better interest rate. Or, perhaps the prime rate is lower now than it was when you financed, and you want to take advantage of lower rates. A lower interest rate will save you a lot of money if you have more than a year left on your car loan; however, interest rates are not the only things you need to consider. Prepayment Penalties So, youve done all of your calculations, and you know that refinancing under a better interest rate will save you a lot of money. However, you need to consider prepayment penalties in your calculations. Say that refinancing will save you $2000 over the life of your loan. If your current loan has $2000 in prepayment penalties, its not going to benefit you to refinance. Check your loan documents for information on prepayment penalties. If youll be charged them, make sure to add that amount into your calculations. Length of the New Loan If you currently have two years left on your loan, youre not going to save money by refinancing under a better interest rate for a longer number of years. For example, if youre currently paying 16% interest on a loan that has two years left on it, and you refinance for a four year loan with 8% interest, youll end up paying the same amount of interest. If youre just looking for a lower monthly payment, this might be the way to go. However, if youre looking to save money, youll need to add the length of the loan into your calculations. Determining Visitor Types

By Susan Friedmann The trade show floor is full of different types of people with different agendas. Some people have specific goals for attending the show; others do not. As an exhibitor your observation and questioning skills will be your key to determining who may be a viable sales prospect. Familiarize yourself with the various visitor types likely to frequent the tradeshow floor.

1.Definites. If you have done a thorough job of preshow marketing, definite prospects and customers will visit your booth.

2.Demonstration Junkies. Watch out for passers-by who are attracted to your booth by a demonstration or other activity. These could be valuable prospects or time wasters. Ask a few short, open-ended questions to find out.

3.Curiosity Cats. These types could be curious about anything what exactly your company does, a graphic, who designed your booth, and so on. Do not spend too much time with someone who is just interested in the design and construction of your booth or intricate details about your graphics.

4.Paper Lovers. Some people love to collect literature or just take any piece of paper no matter what it is. Are they attending the show to research the market for a boss? If so, they may be an influencer worth pursuing.

5.Eyeballers. These types are usually extremely friendly; they smile and their whole body language says, please talk to me. Questioning will determine whether or not they are prospects worth pursuing.

6.Jeopardy Gigolos. Winning contests is their passion. They are always ready, willing and able to drop a business card into a fishbowl for any kind of drawing. Contests that require more than just a business card to enter will help deter these types from finding their way onto your follow-up lists.

7.Keepsakers. Any kind of giveaway attracts these types. They may even want more than one for family, friends and colleagues. Keen questioning will ascertain if this visitor has potential.

8.The Disinterested. Some people in the crowd will simply not be interested in what your organization has to offer. They often let you know in no uncertain terms through their body language; for example, walking by purposely avoiding eye contact or chatting with a colleague. Waylaying these types will only upset them.

9.Hawks. These people attend shows for the sole purpose of selling you their products or services. Publication advertising representatives are a prime example. They are unlikely to be prospects, but you never know. If floor traffic is slow, it may be worth asking a few questions, if only to find out who they could refer you to.

10.Job Seekers. Trade shows are an excellent place to network and look for organizations who may have present or future job openings. As with Hawks, you may want to spend time with them during slow, unproductive periods.

11.Nonentities. These types could be underlings in their organization sent to do some specific research. Never underestimate them. They may be extremely strong influencers. In addition, they probably know whom in their organization you need to contact. Time spent with them could be invaluable.

12.Snoops. Beware of the competition! These types often give themselves away by knowing too much or asking precise questions. Make sure that you do more questioning than talking so that you lessen the chances of giving away valuable information.Written by Susan A. 5 Steps To Help Fail-Proof Your Growing Service Business

By Debbie Jenkins Business startup and failure rates are scary... In The USA... - Every Year Over 1 Million People Start A Business - By The End Of The First Year 40% Of Them Will Be Out Of Business - Within 5 Years More Than 80% (800,000) Of These Businesses Will Have Failed (Source: The eMyth Revisited, Michal E Gerber, US Department of Commerce) In The UK... - 2003 Saw 423,100 New Businesses In England & Wales Startup - Over Half of All New Firms Fail In The First 3 Years - At Least 211,550 Of These Businesses Will Have Failed Before The End Of 2006 (Source: Barclays SME Market Research Team England & Wales Statistics Based On Business Current Account Customers) Unfortunately more and more people are being encouraged to go it alone by government agencies and banks while being given out-dated advice that doesn't actually work. The advisors in these organisations typically have experience in larger production / manufacturing / financial businesses and share marketing advice that really doesn't work for the majority of small service-based businesses today. Their text-book marketing principles simply do not translate to businesses with limited money to invest in advertising, direct mail and telesales. In many cases these advisors are telling people how to run a business even though they're actually working for a bank or government agency themselves. They have no real experience spending their own money to grow a business. Survival and inevitable success means being lean, mean and focused on getting a genuine result (in the form of profit) from the time and money you invest. So here are 5 tips you can use to take the power back and begin "fail proofing" your growing business today. #1. Question "Experts" Thoroughly Be wary of government funded trainers and / or advisors put forward by banks. These people, in many cases, don't have a clue what its like to run and grow their own business. Make it your job to "suss them out" before taking anything they tell you too seriously. Some questions that I like... What's your experience of starting and running a small business? Have you actually spent your own money trying to make a business work? What mistakes have you made? What lessons can I learn from your experience? Will this advice / support / idea cost me money or make me money? Who really benefits when I take the course of action you're recommending? #2. Model Excellent Businesses Now by this I don't mean simply copy random things they do. Just because the boss of a successful firm like yours drives a brand-new Bentley it doesn't mean you should rush out and buy one too. That won't guarantee success. You're looking to find the things that she did in order to afford the Bentley in the first place. So find out as much about their processes and systems as you can and then look for evidence to support applying similar things that work for them to your business. Subscribe to their mailing list. Visit their premises. Talk to their staff. Talk to their customers. Read their ads (or notice that they don't advertise). Network with them. You can learn just as much from non-competing businesses too. So why not set up a support / learning group or see if a successful entrepreneur would be able to mentor you. #3. Have A BIG Goal Big goals, by definition, should be easier to hit than small goals. So don't think small - think big. After nearly 8 years in business I still like to set regular, big, 90 day goals. I call these goals SHAGs - Short Hairy Audacious Goals. Too many businesses focus on surviving. They think in terms of what they don't want. They miss the opportunity to really succeed and then get what they were desperately trying to avoid - failure! Focusing on what you don't want really doesn't work. If you don't want to fail you should focus on succeeding in a big way. #4. Improve Constantly Have goals and set targets. Know what outcomes you want and quantify them where possible. Then work towards your goals using the following cycle... 1. Implement (Do Something) 2. Measure (Test & Review) 3. Improve (Learn & Adjust) As my friend and firewalk trainer Sanjay Shah says, if you simply improve by 1 percent a day, you'll have improved 300 percent (allowing for holidays) in a year! #5. Don't Follow The Crowd Look, we both know most businesses fail so don't do what most other businesses do or you'll get the same results. Don't just advertise because every other business seems to advertise. Make sure advertising will make you money. Don't just do telesales because that happens to be the service your local Chamber of Commerce is selling. Don't measure turnover when profit and cashflow is usually more important. Don't take on staff just because other businesses believe more people equals growth. More people often just means less profit! Don't do the same thing, in the same way, to the same people as every other business like yours. Do something different! 4 Out Of 5 Small Businesses Go Bust Inside 5 Years! Finally - A Guaranteed Way To Make Sure You're Not One Of Them... http://www.leanmarketing.co.uk/toolbooks Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Debbie_Jenkins http://EzineArticles.com/?5-Steps-To-Help-Fail-Proof-Your-Growing-Service-Business&id=3108 2mg xanax order

The Challenge of Merging Your Lives

By Margaret Paul, Ph.D. Lily and Don, both in their 40s, decided to get married after dating each other for a year. Lilys children were in college, while Don still had children coming to his house every other weekend. They discovered early in their marriage that it was one thing to date and quite another to merge their lives in the same house. Little things started to bother them that were not issues when they were living separately and just spending weekends together. They called me for a consultation. How do we take care of ourselves while respecting each others needs and ways of doing things? For example, Lily always woke up each morning by her own internal clock. She could tell herself at night that she wanted to be awake at 7:00 and she would wake up at 7:00. She hated waking up to an alarm clock. Don always woke up with an alarm clock, and during the week would get up at 5:30. Since they had previously been together only on weekends, this had never been a problem. Now it was a huge problem. Don needed the alarm and Lily, jolted awake each morning, was feeling very grumpy. They wanted to sleep in the same bed. What to do? And this was only one of many different issues that had come up since they got married. All relationships have issues such as these. It may be that one person is neat and the other messy, one partner is on time and the other is late, one is a morning person and the other a night person, one a democrat and the other republican, one wants sex frequently and the other is not often turned on. Does one partner have to give himself or herself up for the other? This does NOT work well. It will eventually lead to resentment. Problems such as these get resolved only when both partners have each others highest good at heart, as well as their own highest good. If one or both partners are focused on winning or not losing, neither will be happy with the solution. But when both partners care about themselves and each other, they will find solutions where both feel like winners. As Don and Lily opened to learning and caring about themselves and each other, a couple of solutions came to mind. One was for Don to get some hypnosis training to learn to wake himself up without an alarm. Another was for him to get a quiet, musical alarm and for Lily to wear earplugs. They decided to try both solutions and see how they worked. The process itself of being open to learning and caring about themselves and each other rather than just trying to control or not be controlled created warm and close feelings between them. Knowing that they were both going to care about themselves and each other created a deep sense of safety between them. Win-win conflict resolution occurs only in an arena of deep caring. All close relationships offer us the opportunity to learn and care about ourselves and each other. So, if you love a clean house and your partner is messy, or you want to be on time and your partner is always late, or you want to make love three times a week and your partner is interested only once a week try opening to learning rather than trying to control each other. You will be surprised at the new information and solutions that emerge when learning and caring are more important than controlling and winning. What to look for in a Farmers Market

By Shauna Hanus It is time for farmers markets. They are popping up all around the country. They can range from a true farmers market with farm fresh produce locally grown and sold by the farmer to more of an arts and crafts show. When shopping at a farmers market the consumer needs to be wary of anyone selling fruit or vegetables that are not locally grown or are out of season. It is becoming common practice for some marketers to purchase the same produce that is available at the grocery and sell it in the farmers market venue. Here are a few tips on what to look for in a farmers market. Fresh local fruit and vegetables, no commercially grown produce. Good prices, the price should be comparable to the grocery store. You may find that in some areas the farmers market is a bit higher but this can be well worth it if the produce is local and fresh. Look for moist fresh looking produce. If the corn was picked yesterday it will begin to dry out at the bottom. Look for signs that the fruit and vegetables have been harvested within the last day. Do not be afraid to ask when the produce was picked. If it is the farmer you are talking to they are likely to take pride in their selection. Stay away from produce that has been dumped out on a table. The display should say that someone took time to care for the produce and ensure that no bruising has occurred. Look for clearly marked prices. If it is hard to find out home much that apple is you may be dealing with lesser quality produce. Avoid farmers markets that have a lot of crafts. This may be a sign that the area is not based in agricultural and the farmers market may contain mostly commercially produced fruit and vegetables. Beach Tanning

By Eric Morris As summer approaches, white-skinned people make a beeline for beaches hoping to get the tanned look sported by famous models and actors. Tanning is often associated with healthy and athletic bodies, and today the trend is to get a light tan. Therefore, it is common to find people basking in the sun on beaches, without adequate protection in the form of sunscreen, broad-brimmed hats, or canopies. It may be fashionable to be lightly tanned, but medical practitioners decry the concept of tanning itself. In fact, they state that a tan is a skin problem. To those who are desperate for bronzed skin, they suggest faking the tanned look by using commercially available tanning lotions and sprays. Most models and actors adopt this option, as they are very conscious of the harmful effects of the suns ultraviolet rays. Premature aging, eye problems like cataracts, and skin cancer are some of the ill-effects of overexposure to the sun. Doctors suggest limiting outdoor activities between 10 am and 4 pm. In addition, they recommend the use of beach wear with ultraviolet protection, broad-brimmed hats, sunscreen, and canopies. Sunglasses that offer maximum protection from the ultraviolet rays are also a must for beach-goers. Water-resistant sunscreens should be applied liberally a few minutes before going on to the beach, and reapplied every two hours when on the beach. To conclude, there is a crucial need to create awareness among children and adolescents about the ill-effects of tanning. This is because surveys have shown that teenagers are most influenced by fashion trends, and prone to bask on beaches to develop a tan. Educational institutions and parents need to assume a proactive role to create awareness among children and adolescents. Teens and other avid tan fans should realize that it is not fashionable to be ill. Tanning provides detailed information on Tanning, Beach Tanning, Tanning Oil, Tanning Lotion and more. Lose Weight With a Gastric Band

By Eric Hartwell Health issues were starting to be a problem for me and I wanted to reduce my risks, so I decided I needed a more permanent solution than simple dieting. I looked at Gastric Bypass surgery but felt that was too drastic, having part of my stomach cut away to make the small pouch, even though it is completely reversible. So I decided on a gastric band. This means that a band is positioned around the outside of the stomach and once fluid is added to it, it causes a restriction, forming a small pouch at the top. You then can only eat limited amounts of food as this small pouch fills quickly and gives you a feeling of being full. You drastically cut down on the amount of food you eat causing you to lose weight easily and it makes it difficult, unless you continually overeat and stretch the pouch, to put weight back on. Fluid is added through a port that is situated under the skin of your abdomen and the thinner you get the more obvious this may get, but it is in no way uncomfortable. The band gives you no sensation of at all. There are rules to follow once the band is in place. Chew your food carefully, eat slowly, eat a sensible diet, avoid too many sweets, never drink for a half hour after eating, avoid white bread, rice and pasta for example. But if you abide by them there should be very few problems. My weight has gone down remarkably and although I still have some to lose to get to my ideal weight my health problems have resolved and I feel so much better in myself. You can find out more about ways to lose weight or you can share your opinions at the world's best homepage. Business Legal Forms

By Jason Gluckman Business legal forms cover a wide range of requirements. They are used in a number of business activities like partnership agreements or confidentiality agreements to name just a few. If you are thinking of setting up a partnership for your business you will need to have something on paper, in writing, for the partnership to be recognized before you begin trading. This acts as a safeguard against a lot of disagreements that could occur in the longer term. In the same way if you wish to share any kind of confidential information with either a potential business partner or even your employees, it is a wise decision to get them to sign a confidentiality agreement before you go ahead with divulging the information. This is yet another legal business form that you will need to use. Today you will find a number of sites on the web that provide you sample forms or templates that you could use to get started with your business legal forms. A large number of inventors have filed patents on their own successfully. In order to obtain a patent, you will need to ensure that your invention does indeed qualify for a patent, and apart from that you will also need to give a full description of your invention. For this also you will need to use a business legal form. Whether it be mergers or acquisitions or copyright protections any of such business related activities will need the use of a business legal form. The good thing is that today the use of the Internet can make some of the most arduous legal tasks easier than you could imagine. Legal Forms provides detailed information on legal forms, business legal forms, divorce legal forms, free legal forms and more. Legal Forms is affiliated with Legal Contracts. Why Reverse Marketing Is So Hot

By Mari-Lyn Hudson When I share this concept with people, they just shake their heads and say, What are you talking about? They think I have lost my mind. It reminds me of when I was promoting the idea of using "kindness" in business. Whats kindness got to do with business? I will let you figure that one out for yourself Some people just dont get it. I guess it's because the traditional marketing is so ingrained. Did you know that it has been shown that Reverse Marketing can cut costs of direct marketing from 5 to 30%? Attraction Marketing is very similar to Reverse Marketing. Since the movie "The Secret came out, there are 100s of books out there about attracting whatever you want into your life. I think its great because it helps us shift our perception, our way of thinking, whether it is in our personal or in our business lives.
You can now take advantage of opportunities that come your way. "Allow yourself to be dazzled and surprised by the results." Quote by Joe Vitale Mr. Fire. Here are three steps to change your position in attracting customers and using Reverse Marketing strategies.
1. Attract provide incentives like FREE e-zines, a FREE e-book or another promotional item that your. customers want or may need. Remember FREE is the most powerful word on the internet.
2. Assist - co-create, co-operate and collaborate with your strategic alliances and/or your customers.
3. Affiliate develop affiliate partnerships! These are 3rd party relationships. They could be businesses. that offer similar products and services than your own, or perhaps they completely different. Offer anywhere from a 1 20% commission in sending business your way. Dont be stingy. Pay well and on time. If 20% of our customers buy our services and we can keep up-selling them why do we think we need 1000s of customers? Can you serve them all? Maybe, maybe not. Something to consider.
Until next time,
Love & Happiness to you all! Written by Mari-Lyn Hudson of Heart@Work Marketing she can be reached at 866-667-0166 or info(at) http://www.heartatworkonline.org.
